Barm...yeah I'd have to say barm. The word itself conjures images of a very substantial bready product, filled with chips, or meat and salad.

Bap...more like a bun than a barm, you'd certainly need two of them to get the same satisfaction as a barm. You wouldn't be able to get much filling in them either, not many chips. Still a bap or two isn't too bad in a pinch...I'd thinking of a barm though whilst eating my bap.

And what the fuck is a muffin, really? They're okay, but very limited...can get boring quickly.

muffins are awesome! chocolate chips, blueberries, apricot, strawberry, cranberry, lemon.

Well Muffins are okay if you're in the mood for something sweet, I especially like the chocachino ones from M&S...but I'd take a chip barm over a muffin any day of the week...okay let's face facts, I'd eat the barm then the muffin

Although reading it back...it sounds a bit...well a bit...a bit dodgy I'm passionate about pastries and baked goods...I'm caffeinated, in a bad sleeping pattern, hungry, tired, awake...I'm in a strange mood...

Fall time messes me up - start thinking about lemon-poppy seed muffins.

English muffins aren't the same as those big fairy cakes that are called muffins by Americans.



They're what you'd use as the base for eggs benedict for eg.

When I moved to the north east, I started calling them (barms, baps etc) bread rolls, because otherwise, people serving in bakeries didn't know what I meant.

I don't like egg McMuffins, they're rubbery. Haven't eaten one since '79 or so.

As a result, I never tried those Thomas' English Muffins, which you may just call 'muffins' ('cause you're already in England and all), which really aren't muffins, but dry, rubbery biscuits as per McDonald's.

I know they have all those nooks and crannies for butter to seep in to but I already ate an Egg McMuffin over thirty years ago, and it was rubbery and sucked.

OK, I saw some fancy Euro biscuits in the store today. They came in small packages and costed a lot of money so I didn't buy them as usual.

I know it's just business so nothing personal is intended, but damn, you lot think highly of your cookies. You do know most of that volume goes stale on the shelf 'cause it's too expensive?

Otherwise, love those Danish butter cookies that come around during Christmas. They come from Europe and therefore are very fancy and exotic and expensive.
