The idea seems neat, though I'm not sure what the functions of it would be. Would it potentially slow natural aging processes? I'd advise exercising some level caution with things and people like this though. For what-ever reason, our species seems to delight in the thought of having power for the sake of having it. Naturally the idea of having powerful abilities is appealing. I'll direct attention at Hollywood and the superhero movies as an example. Another could be the way nations with ICBMs flaunt their stockpiles. It's basic primitive human nature to crave power, and some of us have taken note. That subconscious desire has been utilized by various religions/cults as a means of temping people to join. I'm not stating that the article was written by a religion or a cult, but there does appear to be some element of that same type of manipulation. My guess is it's being used to increase numbers for the workshops in their niche market.
Warning bells went off for me when the author painted an image of some primitive 'normal' being in awe of his power after walking into one of the workshops. It's not unlike religious usage of terms like 'nonbeliever', infidel, or even the 'truth' movement's 'sheeple'. It appears the author is trying to create a social divide by isolating those who want an easy predefined path to elitism. The other portion that didn't settle well with me was when the author tried to describe nature of this concept, and claimed he didn't want to get overly technical. When one is discussing material like this, something out of many people's conscious understanding, getting technical is advisable. After, the concept can be broken down by sections. Essentially he cut this out, so in my eyes, he's asking the readers to make a leap of faith.
Maybe I'm looking too much into it, and over analyzing it? I tend to be cautious with things like this, as it seems distracting and manipulative.
No, I don't think it would slow down aging process. It would be a bit like dissapearing from this place ,and appearing in another place, since we are made of particles and atoms ,and if they are moved in the correct coordinates, that is the idea, if it can be achieved, I don't know. We have seen this in science fiction, with Dr. Spock and the Enterprise. For some reason everything is presented as fiction, and after some time it becomes reality, for good use , and evil use also always, that can't be helped, see Einstein, who said if he had known, that his invention would be used in Nagazaki to destroy thousands of human beings, he would not have done it, but he said, later someone else would have discovered the same thing.
It would be great to travel great distances by materializing there.
Naturally Politicians will find a way to spoil everything, since they believe only in power.
But I am not talking from that power point of view. Nothing Political , religious or structrued.
I am talking fron the normal man point of view.
Imagine how it would be for people who haven't seen each other for long time,
young or old. I don't know if we will live to see this ,but at some time we will live in that world. No limits of space
Now it it a fantasy, but in life there are no limits to discoveries.
