Politicians will say what-ever to rally people under their umbrella. There hasn't been a single president who has thought about the country, or our species at large. They do nothing but perpetuate the war machine and pointless monetary systems. They show absolutely no sign of changing.

I think people should cut Obama a bit of slack, yes GW Bush made a lot of changes in his first year of presidency, that's not necessarily great for everyone though, if Obama gets another term, I think his 5th year in congress will be his opportunity to make some significant changes, a good strategist would keep popular support amongst middle ground voters for his first 4yr term, keep mass appeal, moderates, anti and pro war voters under his umbrella, then if he wins again can swing to his favoured position with steps already implemented from his first four years, and another four or possibly more ahead of him.

If he got elected and swung immediately to the left, or anti war camp, he'd be out after one term, that first term is a dangerous balancing act so hopefully he will feel more free to act in the interests of the People who voted for him.

So i will be wanting four more years for Obama. just so I can finally judge how much of his initial election campaigning about radical policies was bullshit.

What Bush did was genius, he went in and straight away his colleagues began making the world a more dangerous place, within his first term he'd launched a global War on Terrorism, when time came to decide on his second term, even John Kerry probably voted Bush, nobody but the mad bastard himself could quell the shitstorm he'd made.

Now Syria and Iran are for the chop and Hilary is echoing Romney's "lets hate russia" rhetoric.

Not sure where I stand on this but I would say that despite my criticism of obama he has appeared to attempt change. He has been obstructed by a republican controlled congress. I don't think it is easy to make things better under the system we have. I have met a few senators and would say that some people do want the best for the people.
