As a observer and not even in the UK, I get the impression many of you know each other in person, is this the case or no?

Just curious no particular reason, it just seems to me a few of you seem very familiar with each other. and I'm nosy.

The only member I know in real life is Dawnbreak.
Even then, we've not actually seen each other in maybe the last 20+ years.

That's a good while not to see a person you know, unless they were just a acquaintance from sometime in your life

Her sister and I were a community work team. Dawn participated in some of the sessions, projects and generally hanging out.
So we got to know each other pretty well. In fact I filmed her wedding.*

Obviously she was a child bride as she's only 32ish now. ;)

Any real world meet would only result in disillusionment for me.

I would be expecting to walk into a bar and see; a smiling slice of toast, a manga combatant, a rainbow, a guy in a neon gimpsuit, various cats with mental grins, gizmo, etc all sat in a huddled in the corner, listening to John Cooper Clarke reciting in greek.

Instead there would just be normal humans. :(

What were you expecting from a hand-cranked camera with a marmoset inside hurriedly sketching?
At that price, the magic marker was extra for people I didn't know!

Basically the YMCA invented basketball. A non-contact sport for woosies.

At the time I was working for the YWCA so I decided to tweak the rules a bit.
By chucking them all. :D
No hoops
No-one gave a shit about the score.

There was a ball though, the rest was ermmm :O :O :O
Even guys on your own 'team' might feel the urge to give you a sly jab in the ribs........ because they could. :D

It was very popular and loads of fun believe it or not and helped angsty teenagers blow of some steam.

The was also an indoor hockey variant as well.
Plastic sticks
a football
and the lights off. :D

No-one really got hurt.

Oh ........ except Neil the Art Worker. who got 6 stitches in his eyebrow on his first night.
He did admit later it was his own fault for standing so close to the doorframe when the ball was chucked to him and around 20 guys launched themselves in his direction.

Woops! :shlap:
