Seriously, you could have saved on the usage of the oven/gas/electric and just tossed the damn thing in a pan and set it over a fire, flipped it and then had the same thing :pop:

small crusty breadroll, sliced in half, lightly toasted....drizzle the inside of bread with olive oil...add sliced tomato, lettuce, fetta cheese and pitted kalamata olives.

The expression that is commonly used is "sa di merda" .

You used the noun of taste. You could say "Hanno un gusto di merda".

"Fanno schifo!" would be the most natural because "taste like shit" is not a common idiom here, imho.
