i made a sandwich with cheese and butter and honey and ham and i toasted it in the broiler.

small crusty breadroll, sliced in half, lightly toasted....drizzle the inside of bread with olive oil...add sliced tomato, lettuce, fetta cheese and pitted kalamata olives.

The expression that is commonly used is "sa di merda" .

You used the noun of taste. You could say "Hanno un gusto di merda".

"Fanno schifo!" would be the most natural because "taste like shit" is not a common idiom here, imho.

And if Mrs Good is Italian, no matter what ISP code you can see, I would be very very suprsied.
