Might be wiser to speak hypothetically re such things, than post such a direct comment on an open forum, which could lead to you being tracked down & having your eyes cauterised with a hot poker.

I think most people believe it helps to pay for the programming and reduces the need for advertising.

In fact it also goes to pay for the local, national radio and the websites too.

But not the World Service

The argument that because paedophiles exist within the BBC means that paying the tax is supporting paedophilia is of course ludicrous. If this were the case then every organisation that had been unfortunate to have such a criminal within it, would also be subject to boycot in order to avoid "supporting paedo scum".

I really like the BBC and it's license fee. You might have heard that there is a big hoo ha here over funding for PBS which is the closest thing to BBC we have here. PBS has adverts though.

It's mental, we still have TV licences, but they did away with dog licences and now any fuckwit can own a dog. at least dog licences are sort of useful.

I always wonder why companies spend so much time and money producing adverts and marketing gimmicks for their products, you notice some quite subversive psychological techniques, some quite invasive and nauseating adverts out there at the moment.

There were a couple on the other night that caught me in a particlarly sensitive mood that made me feel really shit about myself, I can't remember what the advert was for if I see it again I'll make a note.

Most advertising and marketing makes me wanna chuck.
