Interviewed on Piers Morgan Tonight, the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad equates homosexuality to stealing and tells the presenter that being gay is ugly.

When Morgan asked if Mr Ahmadinejad if he could publicly accept homosexuality as people are born gay, the president turned the tables on the presenter and asked: “do you believe that people are born homosexual?” Morgan, who also judges Americas Got Talent replied: “yes, I absolutely believe that”.

Mr Ahmadinejad responded: “I’m sorry. Let me ask you this. Do you believe that anyone is giving birth through homosexuality? Homosexuality ceases procreation. Who has said that if you like or believe in doing something ugly, and others do not accept your behavior, that they’re denying your freedom? Perhaps in a country they wish to legitimise stealing.”

In 2007, during a World Leaders Forum, Mr Ahmadinejad told students at Columbia University: “In Iran we don’t have homosexuals”.

caught part of that on the tellie the other day...used my clicker to turn it off as i was not gunna listen to the fool pretending to be a president of land he cannot own define what is right and okay vs what is not as hes obviously close minded

I've no love for Mr Morgan and doubtless he had his own reasons for bringing this up in interview, but I do think it interesting how nothing much has been made of the comments.

'Interesting' perhaps isn't the right word... :(

Coming out about being a Jewish gay in downtown Tehran is not a good option :O

Try getting a visa for Iran. :killinme: Go to Paris or deal with the Oman embassy in London. Then on arrival in Iran fingerprinted (compulsory).....oh and don't even try if you have a Jewish stamp in the passport, but that goes for a hell of a lot of Muslim countries.

I can play straight... I do have a son, made the natural way, I know how to bat that ball. Getting a visa or going on a trip would not be difficult...but why oh why get a visa and ask permission? :coffee:
