That's just an objective fact imo, the more the interests governing investment are people/socially motivated, the more they reflect the interests of the masses of people the better, the more they work in the interests of profiteering the worse for "us". topical [...]

The problem with infrastructure programs is that always end up benefiting the 1%. They need roads, rails, ports, airports (etc) to move their goods and conduct their business more efficiently, who pays for the infrastructure? Every tax payer, mostly low and middle income that’ll never use that infrastructure for anything other than perhaps traveling from A to B. On top of that, who has to labor to build and maintain the infrastructure?

It would be only fair if you’d make businesses pay a premium for their commercial use of the infrastructure and make that cost non-transferable to the consumer. Of course they’ll scream bloody murder, but as things stand today the people that are forced to pay for state funded infrastructure have no say and no means to complain, let alone have any rights to refuse to contribute.

Government shouldn’t be an entity that facilitates commerce. But that is precisely what it’s become (or perhaps always was).

The only thing taxpayers would have to pay for as such is inflation if the govt printed its own money at 0% interest.
Govt could then invest in such infrastructure etc without hassle.

The trouble is the central bankers have every govt on the face of the planet coming to them to borrow money that doesn't exist at interest so now people not only pay taxes directly for such infrastructure but they also pay via loss of puchasing power of their money as it depreciates. So its a double whammy.

IMHO any govt that does not print its own money is not a govt. Its not doing its job, therefore they have no position of authority over us.

I suppose the point I’m trying to bring across is that government should be ideally; ‘by the people for the people’ as opposed to; by the few for the few. That ethos should of course include printing its own currency, the fact that it doesn’t do that is beyond irrational and quite frankly: inexcusable. One of the roles of said government should be to act as a guardian for the interests of the majority, it claims it does that but we all know it doesn’t. IMHO commercial interest should be on their own, inhabiting a world of their own creation: dog eats dog, price discovery, competition, free markets.

From the state point of view; businesses should be heavily regulated and heavily taxed, the bigger the business the bigger the excise placed upon them. Why? Because the way I see it; all entrepreneurial activity inherently has the potential for exploitation. Exploitation of land/resources and more importantly: people. This should be harshly penalized and discouraged. No one should have the unwritten but implied right to exploit for his/her own benefit with absolute impunity.

Ultimately, this is what humanity is up against. This is the root of all evil (not paper money that is just a tool). We had this same problem a 1000 years ago, we still have it today. So much for progress, uh!?

It all comes down to how many people wish to see the ‘light’ and give up exploitation as a System or... at the very least understand and agree that if we’re gonna allow exploitation to continue to occur, it must always come with some form penalty for the exploiter.

top post ajfa

:approved:

its been great reading everyone's thoughts :)
at the moment my feeling is that saville leads to kids in care.
levinson leads to regulation of the media. the giants wont care but the ones who'll feel it will be you and me.
libor leads to fully digital currency via a couple of steps.
in other words, i feel if we take all these little seemingly good developments and dont at least suspect that we are just being served up dystopia in a very cunning way, we do so at our peril.

is there a force for good? yes
is that force a hardcore cell of powerful people acting impeccably? no
the force for good is us and the nature we are a part of. people are seeing all of this belly of the beast stuff more now than ever for whatever reason. what is important is how people act on what they see hear read feel and subsequently think.

icke and others are right on at least one thing. we are the power. we are the force for good.

sometimes i get drawn in to focussing on the cunts i meet. then i remember that there's a 100 people i interact with 'nicely' to every cunt. its easy to see us as doomed to self destruct if we just think of cunts. they stand out.
the meek and content are too often easily forgot.

and just cos you aint all loud and shouty, it doesnt mean you dont have a voice and it doesnt mean you wont bite when you deem it the thing to do...

Yo Dubs I think you're letter writing to important politicians is a good thing, it however lacks force if taken as one single letter from one single individual, so maybe we could as a forum unite to write letters to our MP#s or to the same MP#s or to other important people, agree on a subject, write to them en masse and then there will be 20 letters on the same thing instead of 1?

I guess the question is, now we've agreed we are the force for good, and that we are required to act as such, what should we do?

i havent written to any politicians gue, nor would i consider it worthy of the paper and stamp. :)
i get your point though. together we the people are an unstoppable force. but we are divided. we need to address that and reconnect with eachother in a genuine and meaningful way. rebuild our community spirit. thatd be a start.
