i loves a good cliche :)

every cloud has a silver lining...

id like us to discuss any worthy and sound aspects of idealogies, lifestyles, mental states etc that we generally deem unacceptable.

are there sound principles involved in national socialism?
what is the potential benefit to society of psychopathy?

that sort of thing...

Hmmm, perhaps it's not particularly qualities of N.S. or psychopathy that are positives rather what we learn from the negatives associated with them. Although some Nazi uniform was pretty smart!

i take your point and its fair to say for sure that you can deem the reaction to say naziism as a silver lining but i would like to concentrate on the plusses contained in the idealogies etc themselves.

Most religions have a good message at the heart of them. Unfortunately "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" includes judging people for their sexuality and which animals they are coveting etc.

I suppose, politically, communism has some egalitarian qualities that are admirable, except it relies on the state to implement 'equality'. Capitalism and the bosses need for profit above workers welfare has lead to workers demanding the right to be less exploited with some degree of unity.

I don't see how anyone can pass off all of the demeaning stuff that Jewish people had to go through in Nazi Germany, dissolving the constitution and political process, murdering your political opponents, restructuring your entire economy so that it's driven by a war machine, sticking millions of people in internment camps, imposing slave labour conditions on them, and then murdering them when you've no longer got any use for them...as being 'National Socialism'. We should always call it tyrannical fascism.

I'm not sure much good came out of it, but I think it's often stated that the Nazis built the autobahn, which is supposedly a fine transit system.

its interesting to note that supporters of ns point to the undeniable job creation hitler acheived as vindication of it.
it may be fair to say that the living standard rose for 'the average german' as ns was implemented. that, though not considered a 'silver lining' by ns supporters might potentially be thought of as one...
thats until you draw focus back and take into account what those jobs largely were, how they were funded and also those that didnt exactly reap the benefit. at that point the silver lining goes away.

oi raised religion. organised religions do undeniably tend to foster community spirit. being part of a faith seems to encourage you to look after the other members ot your faith. the jehova's witnesses for example will club together to build houses for the faithfull who may be in need.
this may be considered a silver lining but again it disappears when you remember that it isnt inclusive. you have to be in the club so to speak...

im actually struggling to think of a bona fide example of a silver lining...

Yeah, they're great as long as you don't turn out to be gay. Or need to have a blood transfusion. Trust me, I know someone who was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and they fuck their children's heads up. That might sound like an exaggeration, but it isn't.

Socialism betrays basic human psychology. If there is no advantage to excelling, because everyone is 'the same' there will be less excellence.

Socialism is a guise for those who seek to control the masses, by using some retarded notion of equality.

We all should have equal rights, not equal lives
.
Socialism would be a perfect form of government only if you were working with perfect people. As there are no Perfect people, then the theory of socialism is flawed and cannot work. That is the major problem with communism, too. The advocates of those two forms of society refuse to see the fallacies in their arguments and cannot resort to logic, as their minds cannot handle facts.

I think if you get into the head of a nazi or a banker then you can perhaps see why they enjoy national socialism or banking. However not sure you could see a positive in a system that features such strong negatives. I would suggest though that if you removed the negative aspects you might find a much less negative reaction.

Unless you agree with the basic idea of something it is tough to find the positive aspects of it. I guess it is like debate skills. If you have the task of defending an idea that you do not agree with then you ignore the bad and focus on the good. So you might say national socialism brought people together. However you ignore so much to say that.

I thought that a lot of women lost their jobs because they were sent home to produce kids for the fatherland. Admittedly my knowledge only comes from general schooling so I'm more than happy to be corrected. Where's Haddocky Jim when ya need him? :D

And they don't like it when people try to leave the flock either.
