From wikipedia, so perhaps savile had summat to do with it :)

I'm very sociable really, and if I go out, I usually make new friends easily. Trouble is, I don't go out very much, because I've become isolated while raising the children with th'usband working late (or going out his self, which I won't whine about now, becaue I have done before).

I've a handful of people who think they're my mates, but I don't count them as such really, because they only ever turn up out of the blue every few months, specifically because they want something. Otherwise, I don't hear from them. It pisses me off.

I do make a point of being pleasant and polite with people generally, except when they are rude to me, at which point, I let them have it with both barrels. Such as an occasion when I chased a bloke along the street in the town centre and berated him loudly, because he'd casually spat, whilst walking past me, and unwittingly left me with a big blob of phlegm on the leg of my jeans. He apologised (when he could get a word in) but he didn't seem embarrassed, as I felt he should have been. He seemed to think I was amusing.

this thread was kind of meant to be light hearted. You can't really have a hermit club.

Ewww! I had a man spit in my face once. I was standing at the crosswalk waiting for the light and he walked right up to me and spit a huge wad of phlegm right on my cheek. I had never seen him before. :conf: :nilly:

Reading this thread reminded me of a bit that Chris Rock did, he is talking about married people, but what he says reminds me of all people, generally, and why I like to keep to myself.

You get high octane people. Well, I'm a low octane person and feel drained very quickly when I'm around the wrong people. Unfortunately there's an awful lot of these 'wrong people' about.

I'll be back to chat to all you lovely hermits later, but I'm having to bust my lady-balls today. :goat: :puppy:

G'day LesleyPumpshaft.

Firstly, pic's of your "lady-balls" would be appreciated for future reference and recognition. ;) :D

Those "wrong people" are usually acquaintances posing as friends. Acquaintances will tell or listen about life experiences, while a friend actually experiences life with you. There's a world of difference. ;)

Let us not have meet-ups, for they are far too common.

We could have a Travel Club instead, for meet-ups and stuff, and call it The Hermit Club.

I'd like to go if you let me know what date it's going to be.

We're planning this for venice carnival, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_of_Venice www.venice-carnival-italy.com/ I'll be arriving Saturday 2nd Feb with aer lingus to marco polo venice .
Mikey has said he can manage to pick me up in venice, he lives about a 2hr drive away in the dolomites.

Monarch iirc fly from manc to marco polo on the 3rd feb and back on the 10th.

Go check out flight prices and see if you can do it :)

If oi is coming I'll die laughing, even his face on vid chat is a permanent smirk :)

Just checked actually.
Monarch from manc airport is deffo out feb 3rd and back feb 10th and at reasonably pleasant times too.

Price is 45 quid out 50 quid back again.

I'll be going with aer lingus from dublin and will arrive and go a day earlier than the monarch flight but at least mikey will have the room in the car then lol. :p
