Have they managed to turn them on without celebrity help or did they get one in to do the job?

No idea, but it's a small rural town so most probably the mayor or another inbred :chuckle:

Someone round the corner switched their own annual christmas lights show on on 1st november.

All over the outside of their house (including the roof) is illuminated with loads and loads of lights, flashing neon reindeer, all sorts of glowing tat. Its truly gruesome.

They do it every year. Fuck knows what their leccy bill must be like.

Yes, but how would we know, when you've only posted the back of your head!

Take my word for it, my head back then; 09/12 looks so much more youthful than today 11/12

But you should have posted it in the, 'Show us the pretty back of your head', thread Mrs Dodger. :D

Would you like to barrow a knife and go along cutting cords at random areas so the lights don't work in some spots?

Now I know you're a leg-puller, and I ain't falling for that one.

I should think you've some exciting reason for hiding your identity - such as, there's a reward out for your arrest - 'Wanted, dead or alive'.

Or else you did the same thing as them 2 chaps in the paper a bit back, who robbed somewhere, but instead of wearing balaclavas, they disguised themselves by colouring their faces in with black marker pen that wouldn't wash off.

I've seen some that have charity collection boxes outside. 'We're not showing off, we're doing it for charidee'

Leccy bill large, intelligence low.

If I lived next door I'd have to rip them down. Some people shouldn't be allowed access to electricity.

Please do. :)

Driving to work this morning I saw a 6 foot plastic snowman being erected (fnarr) in a front garden.

If I had a gun I would have shot at it.

I love the time of year but I dislike all the showyness.

You should always carry a pea-shooter with blow darts, just to be on the safe side, Hugo.

All my kids have loved all the lights etc that you see this time of year, even after going through all the conspiracy stuff with them(well except my youngest, though i did tell him there isn't a dodgy bloke with a bread that sneaks into your bedroom ever, let alone xmas, but fuck two years on and this lil guy still wants the magic, keep thinking innocent here, not dodgey people...so i just gave up and said it's up to you, if you beleive he's real then maybe) :umm: I just like happy and if a few peeps with crazy lights around the place makes their day then wtf.

My eldest 20 year old daughter loves the magic of xmas, and i went on a bit of a rampage to prove it's orgins weren't great. Like water off a ducks back, and i love the fact that even at 20 she's still is a lil kid.
