I'll tell you what happened and tell me what you think!

My son (19) has been complaining all week about his coats being too small and scruffy. So I was thinking about getting him a new coat, then this weird thing happened. I kept getting thoughts to 'tell him to go to a particular charity shop because his coat was there waiting on him' :O

I ignored this at first but the 'thoughts' just kept coming so I eventually phoned him and said 'see on your way home stop in at xxx charity shop because I think there is a coat in there you'll like'

He came running in the door an hour later and said 'how did you do that, there is the perfect coat there, can you lend me £15 , I've got them to hold it for me but didn't have enough money to buy it' (it cost £45)

We went down and bought it..........it fits him perfectly.

The coat is a 1951 RAF officers coat but in all seriousness it looks like it was made yesterday not 50+ years ago.

Anyway the cat reacted to the coat, she fought it then sort of fuddled up to it and started purring. The cat has never reacted to clothes before

Since the coat arrived everything is going 'right' . I'd been disputing a bill with a mobile phone company for 3 years and they were doing the usual 'we'll threaten you with bad credit references and send bailiffs' then today I received a letter admitting. they had made a mistake

My son also received letters for 2 interviews after 6 months of job searching and nothing happening

I know this is a long post however I just want other opinions on whether or not it could be down to the coat?

disclaimer: I do believe in the supernatural

The coat is weird in spooky way. We researched it based on the makers label and it was 'made' in either 1950 or 1951 ....the thing looks brand new

As an aside most modern day coats last what, one or two years, before they start falling apart and looking shite.

What has that coat seen in it's lifetime? it probably went to Korea and survived unscathed

It did have a bit of mud on the back and I was 'put the mud in sandwich bag that might have come from a battlefield' :emb:

Great thread.

Maybe the coat has been in your family before or (here's my fave) maybe your son owned it during a previous life.

I love the smell of old coats. That does not make me a pervert. :)

You don't need to be a religious type to believe in past life journeys. I'm not and I do ().

I think his reaction says it all really. Has he thought about going back to the shop and asking if anyone remembers who brought it in? It'd be the first thing on my 'to do' list if I had the same experience.

the girl there just said 'it came in today' and we thought it was a great coat .....they can't remember who brought it .....according to her 'it just sort of appeared'

This story just keeps getting better. It reminds me of...

Maybe his future self brought it back in time so he could buy it and wear it whilst he completes the task he has to undertake in order to be the future him that the future him wants him to be, in the future. :) Yes, I know that makes no sense whatsoever but this sort of thing excites and intrigues me.
I'll need a lie down at this rate.

He just keeps going 'It's my coat'

He's not into past lifes but is coming around to theory , and thinks it might have been his coat in 1951?

Tales of the unexpected......do you remember the one were they crashed a plane and ate the deceased then had an annual dinner eating people ...........that one freaked me out

It was the one with the lighter and the missing fingers that freaked me out. :O

I think someone has uploaded them all on to youtube.

The music scared me a bit when I was younger so I didn't watch that many. :couch:

That's the sort of thing I would do if I was a parent. Probably just as well I don't have any kids.

Hammer House of Horror was brilliant.
I don't remember the bleeding house episode but I do remember one about a bee-keeper and his wife, and a really spooky one with a half naked witch running around. :O

Could be the coat... but if it's doing good things, why question it...know what I mean? :dunno: Sometimes once one thing falls in your lap other things start to fall into place as well. Could be coincidence, could be karma, could be a spirit on a goodwill trip lending a hand.
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way
