Now pass that foil

I had cocaine once when I broke my nose at rugby :)

Holy shit...it felt GOOOOOD! No hallucinatory effect whatsoever, just an amazing feeling of awesomeness, I could think 3 or 4 times faster, see colours that weren't there before, felt just so alive and well.
The next day I felt fooking shit!

Cocaine is one hell of an addictive thing tbh, I can easily see why.

Never let it be said that I gave tradition short shrift. I'm in, but I'll need to get a bit closer.

i've got 4grams of dried shrooms here last time i did 1gram and had a weird couple of hours, i;ll probaby take 3grams this time and think about death a bit.

Hmmm glad I caught this topic.

Drugs can and do expand the mind, but they can also destroy it.

"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
Friedrich Nietzsche

When you take LSD,DMT,Salvia etc.,the "mind altering substances" you're dealing with a different "dimension" than the one we usually occupy.

Some would call it exploring the inner recesses of the mind, and some would call it literally traveling to a higher vibration.
In my opinion it's a little bit of both. Just like the shamanic trials however, you have to be prepared to be tested, and you damn well better be of sound mind, body, and spirit before entering.

If you make out the other end your perspective on life is inevitably altered, whether you decide to acknowledge it or not.

Now as far as crack, coke, crystal, that sort of stuff. I consider them a different class of drug altogether. They're sort of "Vanity Drugs". We use them to feel good, and they do a damn good job of it.

I pity the poor bastard who tries to use entheogens or psychoactives to "feel good". If you don't feel good before taking them then that proverbial Abyss is gonna take a deep long gaze and then swallow you fucking whole.

Agreed doc and for the purposes of the thread i propose we draw a clear distinction between lab drugs and natural plants, especially entheogens.

To discuss the two groups alongside is imo unwise.

Right on dub.

I don't think anyone could make an argument for crack or meth to be "mind expanding" in any way, shape,or form.

Mind expanding isn't a sufficient term for the entheogens really is it. Tbh mind kind of gets left behind.
The 'expansion' is of consciousess, of which mind is a part for sure but far from exclusively.

We can intellectualise the experience, and we tend to but to do so isn't the same as the experience. Hard to put into words.

Hmm,well I tend to think of mind expanding as adding something to your mind AFTER the experience. A lot of people define a mind expanding drug as expanding your mind during the experience.

For me if you come out of it with knowledge or understanding or a different perspective than you had before then your mind has been expanded. Just my opinion though.

while stimulants aren't exactly "mind expanding" i do think they enhance you a little.

not the same as analyzing your personality on a psychedelic, which enhances you more and permanently, but in the sense that i find my wits speed up and my mind is a little clearer.
