Personally,I do not believe there is just nothing. I believe we return to source for some R&R before being sent into life again,as anything. This stems mainly from one of my very first memories and emotions as a tiny baby being a sigh of "Not this shit again!"

But,having to consider other views, one thing that scares me - IF when we die that's just it; NOTHING,I wink out like going into a dreamles sleep and it's the end. IF that is what happens - what about the people I've loved, and who have been important to me,who have had an impact and impression on my life - it means nothing :( Well,it means something while I'm alive, but I want it to be more enduring than that. I don't want them to become nothing to me once I die.

If it was the reincarnation route that happens, then sure I don't remember the people I would have loved inother lives, but their imprint would still be in my consciousness; their impact would still be having an effect.

Or maybe when we die we become part of everything,or a hundred other possibilities :D

But for there to be just zero. We all may as well have died at birth?

I'm inclined to believe we come back. I don't think there's really "death", just infinite life, and possibile lives. I think when we die, we have R&R for a length of time of our choosing, and then we dive back in when we're ready.
I don't subscribe to the whole nothingness thing. I can't imagine not existing, even when we sleep we dream.

Yeah, I think we're part of an infinite energy source :)

I agree :) That actually sounds the most logical really. Especially since everything is basically an energy, and that old quote; energy being a thing "that can neither be created nor destroyed but only turned into another form of energy".

I can't get my head around the nothingness theory at all xD I would need someone who truly believes in it to explain clearly how that could possibly work. But then,I don't believe that an Absolute Nothing could possibly even exist either,so....

If,like you say,we choose our time to come back,I wonder what on earth I was thinking? :D Well,I've always felt I came back too soon,or was pushed back too soon, and hadn't rested enough >_< And then I put that down to being the reason for never actually feeling "whole" or like I truly exist. Or maybe my infinite spirit is just a bit of a slacker xD

Life is a constant recycling process. To consider that the force which drives that is somehow exempt, for me, defies logic.

We spend vast amounts of time considering what happens next but rarely consider, where have we been all these billions of years the life party has been going on.

That said, I can't find myself able to subscribe to a god head concept.

I believe that was a simplistic explanation offered to rationalise things in the absence of developed sciences and then utilised as a damn effective mass control device. "Surrender to our will in this life and we'll put a word in for you for an upgrade in the next life."

Nah, yer alright mate. On yer bike.

That's a really good point :) I remember during one experience I had, where I was kind of "shown",and experienced at the same time (hard to explain,it was weird and had no language) that I was right there in the amoeba too,and also right there way into the future. It was a really great experience; the sense of peace and purpose and freedom that came from it all. Sometimes I wonder if it is all actually happening simultaneously, that we ARE still experiencing the parts of ourselves in the past and the future as well as every possibility in the present. Although that doesn't explain why mostly we're just stuck in this one timeline without conscious access to all those other states of existing. Unless that is something unique to the genetic makeup of a human brain,a kind of code-locking,it being finite,so it will mostly exclude memories/experiences of the infinite.

BUT they can be experienced sometimes anyway :)

When it comes to god,my concept of it - self-perpetuating consciousness that has to create in order to exist - that would be evolving also :) Reality itself would be evolving :)

Funnily enough, I was going to post a thread similar to this earlier... oooo-eeer - synchronicity or summat. :umm: :D

But, alas, I don't know enough to comment on is/isn't, true/false, this/that, even though I've been rooting around in this sort of thing almost my entire life. I've never managed to land on one side of "belief" or another because I always seem to have experiences that prove both sides wrong/right. :conf:

So, I don't come bearing any answers, just more questions :D :

If it's true, what is the point of "reincarnation" anyway? I keep reading and uncovering stuff about being here to experience this or that, or to learn and grow, or expand and ascend. Does that indicate than Spirit cannot learn or experience, etc? I would have thought Spirit could do and experience much more as a spirit than as a lumpen Human.

And why is it that past reincarnations are not "allowed" to be remembered? I mean, wouldn't that accelerate the learning process? Wouldn't it make sense that we could "come here" knowing what the lesson was or the experience we needed to go after?

I dunno. It's a theory with a lot of holes on every side in it. It shouldn't be believed... except I have a whole swathe of experiences that contradict that. :conf: :emb:

:D

We might reincarnate for shits and giggles :D If we remembered everything in each subsequent life, we'd end up with a tonne of information and knowledge and, well, we might just get bored to tears of it all. It might be better not knowing, and then after this current life we might have a sort of de-briefing and learn the lessons in hindsight kind of thing.

We just don't know, maybe it's more fun that way and keeps the whole thing fresh and interesting :)

No... Really... It is NOT more fun that way! This is the worst Holiday Campsite I've ever been too and it is NO fun at all.

Give me that tonne of information and knowledge - NOW.

It's a bit crummy at the moment I know, this Earth gaff, but I'm enjoying it. Maybe I'm some kind of masochist :spank: :O

I'm a bit a meh :dunno: about it as well, at the moment. I need to get myself some better experiences on this planet. I'm just floating along, neither here nor there, it's not terrible but it's not great either.
I could do with a bit of excitment :D I'll have to go out and find some :cheer:

Maybe this whole thing is God training...once we pass we get our own planet and populace to mess around with :D

Maybe we come back because we just do, no big revelation, no big Ah ha!! moment, it just is :dunno:

It just is, and we just do.

There, I've solved the whole shebang :cool2:

of course we are part of an infinite energy source.

earth always weighs the same, no matter how many people are new born, as long their born on earth.

but, when we die, we die, the brain dies and were dead, but still were energy, in form of a corpse being burried.

i mean, if david icke is so certain theres an energy field afterlife of sorts, why does he bother staying around on earth with all the tyranny etc?

I don't know hada...energy in the form of a corpse  My brain is going to start hurting thinking about this :D Maybe the corpse is still energy, but it's not our energy anymore. All the essence and electricity and cellular activity is gone. It's just some rotting thing that's no longer us.

I don't really believe in an afterlife, I believe in a life after this life. It seems logical, and it's a handy answer I can put to bed so I can get on with my life without worrying about it :chuckle:

As for David, he sticks around for shits and giggles like the rest of us :D Yeah there's tyranny but beer still tastes good  :chuckle:

I'm totally with you on that one...sometimes. Sometimes, this is like the worst Butlins adult weekend binge - EVER.

Other times though, you have to admit, it's pretty fkin marvellous. :D

Besides, who says you can't have access to that 'ton of information' whenever you like?

I suppose that's what the buddhist monks and shamen type people do, attempt to try to access all the information and knowledge, maybe. But at the expense of life :D They sit there for years on end, find some answers, then carc it :D I'd rather have some fun, and a laugh and that.
Although maybe the shamen types are having fun trying to find answers and stuff :chuckle:

i think we just become part of it all. like a drop in an ocean. plip. here there and everywhere. but i think there's other dimensions, and there i think more individuality is present. i know theres something. i dont know what it is, but its not the end. this is just a meaty vehicle.

First of all, I consider our "souls" to be an energy source that powers our bodies. It is an energy that is part of a vast source. When our bodies die, that energy goes back to the source, and it goes out as it will -- not an exact replica of an energy that used to inhabit our bodies, nor an exact replica of the person we used to be. Just an energy that will be used to power another body. I think that because this energy is always around us in one form or another, and that it is all sourced from the same place, that is why we are able to "recall" past lives, because there are still glimmers of past incarnations of that energy that still exist in the source.

I don't think our souls exist in the sense that they have conscious thought or action, they just are. We have conscious thought and action, we develop personalities and characteristics, these are all quirks of the physical. I don't even think we "own" our souls, these bodies are just borrowing from the source.

It's easy to fall into a state of mind that life on earth is a trial and a bit shit.

But as I sit here in the sun on Exmoor and look across the valley to the hills and woods beyond, I can see mummy nature doing her thing, the birds flitting about, the trees unfurling their leaves and getting ready to harvest the sunlight, the water flowing down the streams in the never ending cycle, the bees settling on the early flowers..........

And I can see that this is a simple and incredibly beautiful world. A world that was not designed for us to run around over complicating things and stressing out..

energy can never be created nor destroyed

Exactly how any of us came to be will never be answered (in our physical lifetime)

I believe something happens after death. What, I'm not sure exactly.

I do believe we have a soul, an essence and I think that will keep on existing as our souls for a long long time.

However imagine you were dead , and you went to where-ever your soul goes after death, and where shown this new world but that world was only your mind, so all senses were lost.

You might chose to come back here for another go! Almost like a computer game.

I can't remember a previous life or heaven or hell or wherever, but I do think me being here before is more likely than me never having been here before

The sad thing is so many people don't enjoy this place. The mountains, the seas , the tree's , the animals , the other people........

The whole notion of everything here is BAD annoys me
