One never knows do one...

But I would encourage people to enjoy the life you have and make the most of every moment.

The way our parents create us leads many to believe we live on by having children.

All it takes is to watch a person grow from a kid to an adult and on to a senior.

The idea of the circle of life seems to have some logic.

We may already of died countless times without realising it. I have a belief then when we die we just flip across to another paralell reality without ever realising we are dead.

I think ive died a couple of times already. :)

Depending on what we are giving out depends if we go to a better paralell world or a worse one. The 2012 peaceful new age types crowd maybe living in absolute peace in a highere paralell world while the 2012 doom and gloom crowd maybe creating hell for their next parallel world.

Theres a bit in the bible where jesus says in my fathers house are many rooms i will prepare one for you.

Muslims will go to one of many Allah paralell worlds, Christians will go to their paralell world etc. I also believe when we get to the end of our life we are born again to live the same life over and over again making little changes over the thousands of times we live the same life.

I would like to also think it's not all over when we die.

But I don't understand why we would not just be immortal in that case.

@ RealAmerican

I reckon we're not immortal because we'd get bored. That's if you meant live forever in this body. We jump into different bodies and many lives for freshness and to keep the excitment.

I've been awake for 22 hours, I may very well be talking utter crap :D

I just have a fear of seeing people with healthy cells grow old to the point they can hardly walk anymore.

Watching people age is one of the scariest things to me because it looks painful.

All these people on drugs trying to escape arthritis pain and worn out joints.

How do you know your not immortal? you may have died countless time in the last few years. Each time you die just rewind to an earlier time or jump across to a paralell world.

Great thread here! I'm not going vrey deeply into my own insights about this atm, many of you have actually said quite the same things I would say... :D

I know there's things 'on the other side' when we go on. I do believe we live many lives... If it would be only thing one, well, it wouldn't really make sense at all. One thing which makes me confident of this is that I have never ever feared death or losing loved ones to it... I somehow know they're there even when their current physical life has ended. Only time I've been truly sad about someones death, it was when my cousin died, he was only 10 years old. And he was my best friend at the time, I still miss him. :(

Oh, one thing which has puzzled me, I think there is no real linear time, only time is 'now' and it's sort of infinite... When we 'die' I think we exist in timelessness, only in the 'now' and I think that time is more like a sphere than a line. I believe it's possible to sort of go back or to the future, when we exist in that timelessness. Little bit same way as how dreams work. I think we can reincarnate to past of future, because time is not linear.

I regard time like you, Hex. Not a line going past, cut into little portions; but like a "sea" of existence that's always there and always will be.

I've (for some stooooopid reason) chosen to come back to this time. But, while selecting in the Arcade Of Life, I could just as easily have plumped for life in a time of baco-foil jumpsuits and flying cars that some would call The Distant Future; or a stint in Victorian times, or the Medieval past.... because, like games in an Arcade they're all still "playing" now. :D You pays your money and you takes your choice! :D

It's one of the reasons I don't celebrate birthdays and suchlike. That's a human concept of passing some kind of milestone and means you're a year older and less likely to being able to do (enter whatever it is you'd like to do). The thing is to feel how you are at this moment, see if you have an interest in something, then do it instead of telling yourself, "It's too late to go skydiving, I'm 72 now", or similar.

As for life after death... I dunno. I can't remember anything about having lived before (although I've been told in great detail about one former life, to the extent I know my "former name" :D ). But I've had too many weird experiences to not have a belief that life continues.

I'm just deeply puzzled as to what I'm supposed to learn or experience as a dopey human that I couldn't learn or experience as a free spirit....... :conf:

Life! Before, After and During it makes not sense. :D

Well, a long and active life will inevitably take a toll on the body. But many of the ailments you fear and believe belong to old age can be found in (sadly) children and youngsters, people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and so on. They aren't exclusive to age and could have as much to do with genetics and diet as growing old.

The danger of "marking time" is that we can have an expectation of what every age brings - and that alone can limit us and cause unhappinesses and problems. If you call a woman "43", SHE also hears you say "You will never have any children now; it's too late to train in ballet; you'd be on the scrapheap in Hollywood" and possibly a whole swathe of other things denied simply because she (or he) is now "43". Lose that and instead just look at "Do I want to do/learn this?" and "Do I feel I'd be able to do it/try?".

My Horsey Mum is now 87. She still breeds one or two of her darling horses every year - and handles them daily and their foals, when they get here. She could say "I'm too old for that now" or "I might die soon" - but she doesn't. It doesn't matter to her. She feels just fine and wants a big, fiesty colt or two to bring on. Job done! And she could die... but she hasn't yet, although her neighbour did aged 47 (heart failure) and her SIL did (aged 54).

And Diana Mason who rode for Britain in the Olympics aged 74. It wasn't an "honour bestowed upon her". She qualified like everyone else, by winning a lot of other competitions. When she was selected for the team no one was more shocked than Diana to learn that she was 74... because she hasn't "celebrated" a birthday for over forty years and had no idea how "old" she was.

There are hundreds of thousands of examples of men, for instance, who were dead within a year of retiring because they saw themselves as on the scrap heap and finished (aged 65!).

Get rid of your birthdays :D and instead, just check yourself every day to see "Do you want to do/try this thing?" and "Do you feel able?" and Old Age will seem much less inevitably terrible.

:D

Have you ever as a child during the ages of four to eight or so, felt as if you had some past awareness of something,or you were coming from somewhere you had been.
I felt that way in my thoughts at a very early age.

Hei Cantata, you have brought this thread to very interesting point now, and that is the whole consept of time and how people percieve it. Some cynical people might think it's just stupid to live by things like 'you're only as old as you feel inside' and stuff like that, but I think it works that way.

I think people have some sort of plan too, about what they want to achieve in here, and I think it's very much possible that some of it is decided before the game started. :D I have this stupid idea that our lives here on earth are little bit like a giant roleplayeing game, in which part of the roles is decided beforehand. Ok, I'm rambling, time to go wash some dishes.
