Yeah, that's a point sketti... but say you're reading about Middle Earth, The Lord Of The Rings, no matter how vivid and well developed you're imagination is, reading the book, you'll always be in Middle Earth... a book is like standing outside a house and looking in through the window, the internet is being in the house and looking out into the world... okay, really, really, shit analogy :emb: I just can't find the words today, it's one of my thick as shit days :chuckle:

For me, a good book will always be more pleasurable and satisfying than the internet.

So the internet has a first and last page? I suppose technically it does :D I'm not looking at it in that linear way though... I see it more as a kind of world overlaid on top of our own, if you know what I mean  :chuckle:

Yeah but DG, I'm not comparing how satisfying and pleasurable the internet is compared to a book :D I'm trying to ascertain what the internet is... or what it could become...

The internet has become an unbelievably integral part of our reality considering that only 20 years ago it didn't really exist and hardly anyone saw *this* coming.

I dunno....my generation was promised great things in our lifetimes....space travel, end to world wars and famine etc. Instead we get....?

I've said this before.

The early years of the internet will be historically regarded as the unfettered internet golden age when you could watch 2 girls 1 cup on youtube. :D

If it's a round biscuit, I break it in half, and dunk it into a cup of sweet milky tea, then dunk the other half :) and so on and so on... :chuckle:

It's that whole biscuits/cookies/scones thing... we can overcome this, we can break down this barrier, if you American peeps just admit that you're wrong, and start referring to your "biscuits" as scones :P

Well I don't know the in's and out's but for it to 'just happen' it must have been down to what someone did... therefore because of this thing that they did, they in turn invented the internet... or summit :D
