No wonder people don't take poverty serious in the ghettos of America when 1 out of every 9 starve before age 5 over there.

there are so many things that contribute to this absolutely appalling statistic - there is no reason any child should go hungry other then greed and the misappropriation of resources by those with the power to ensure that food reaches even the most impoverished.

Whether it be religious leaders telling people they will go to hell if they use contraception, men and women failing to take responsibility for the children they have created, governmental figures lining their own pockets whilst their people starve, rebel groups taking food and medicines or their soldiers or crops being destroyed and fields full of landmines. The wests wastefulness and then natural disasters to boot.
Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

A long time ago people would have just up sticks and found a more fertile land or less dangerous place to live.

With borders and other people creating a criminal legal system just for themselves these people are fucked.

Why do developed nations who, according to all scientific reports, could feed the planet easily, permit this atrocity?

BTW, in very poor countries having loads of kids is a way to tackle the high infant mortality rate and have kids that will grow up and take care of you.

We did the same only a few generations ago.
