Same coloured wire on either side of the switch and preferably do it with it not plugged in at the time :D

When I was a youngster we used to use one plug to plug in various other devices, using only the wires. My granda did it all the time too. I've actually got memories of running three things from one plug :emb:

I expect this went on in other peoples houses too that are here :D
It's the fact that I was a kid when I did this, that throws me abit. It seemed to be the done thing and for some reason, also ok for children to do.

On an unrelated note, sort off... the worst electric shock I've ever had was from a plug socket - age 11, I thought it would be ok to plug it in without the back on it and used my hand to push it in and it was switched on. It basically threw me back across my room and I've never forgotten about it nor plugged a plug in this way again :emb: :D

Jhado - I used to get an electric shock in a flat I had years ago, when I touched the grill pan handle with one hand, and the (perfectly dry) draining board at the same time with the other. I could feel electricity arcing right through me. But it never happened to anyone else who did it (we did experiments). Why? :conf:

A slightly safer method was to wire several devices directly into the one plug. Of course this could overload the fuse in the plug, even a 13 amp could struggle.

I found the problem was easily solved however, by wrapping tinfoil round the fuse... :hahano:
