A slightly safer method was to wire several devices directly into the one plug. Of course this could overload the fuse in the plug, even a 13 amp could struggle.

I found the problem was easily solved however, by wrapping tinfoil round the fuse... :hahano:

While standing in a bucket of water in a school cupboard? :yup:

You know, there are actual reasons for having fuses. :chuckle: Good thing your wiring was up to the task, tho it probably still got a little warm.

What do you do with modern breakers, tape the switch in the on position or wedge it on with a toothpick or something? :larf:
