Ab Origine wrote:
It is not my intention to bring you all down, but some of you are the only folks who seem to remotely 'get me' sometimes, so I thought I'd ask this here.

I've been feeling like this for a while. I'm done searching for answers or even pretending that there might actually be any and to be perfectly frank, I'm tired.

Increasingly, I find myself isolating myself from everyone around me and their (what I perceive to be in the main) 'petty' dramas. I grow weary and ever more frustrated at people's lack of ability to see the world as I do. I don't mean this in a condesending way at all: It's just I can only point things out to people so many times before I get bored and fuck 'em off out of it. I'm also not pretending that I am in any way right about everything either. But there are some things which really should be obvious to just about everyone, shouldn't they? I don't blame people for ignoring me actually...my version of the world is pretty shitty at the best of times.

I raise this here because I reckon some of you may have felt the same at some point and I wondered what you found, if anything, to get yourself up out of it. Escaping depression (not to suggest that I am actually 'depressed' at this point in time, as I don't believe myself to be) has been a bit of a life-long quest for me, and I've still not figured it out. I've tried big pharma, 'counselling' ( )...I've even tried eating, smoking and drinking my way to happiness. I've also tried buying my way to happiness, though increasingly this is becoming more difficult, let alone just paying bills and feeding myself.

Nothing, nadda, zip. Do you think some people are just destined to be miserable?

The real irony of the whole situation is that there is actually nothing much wrong with me, physically at least. I have psoriasis sometimes, mild asthma occassionally and, oh yeah...I'm a sexual deviant. But other than that. Aside from the inversion nothing a sensible diet and clean living wouldn't remedy, could I afford to do so. I do have a roof over my head at present. Which is nice. I suppose I should feel guilty really, but I don't.

I have family and friends and again, I know I should probably feel differently about things because of them, but truthfully, I don't. I think about a world sans me and I think it would just carry on ticking over quite nicely. It might be a bit painful at first, but life goes on. I've lost people I love and my life still monotonously edges away from me (though seemingly not quite fast enough for my liking), so I know this to be true.

So, here I find myself. I think about how I might die and when I might die. I must hasten to add that this isn't some thinly veiled cry for help either, as I've nowhere near the gumption to actually end it all myself. Plus, facebook and the like are much better fora for those types of appeals for validation I find, which is precisely why I avoid places like that like the plague.

No, I'm really just at a loss and asking if anyone can point me in the right direction, particularly if they have been this way before themselves? I am done, finished, knackered. I have nothing left to offer and I am conceivably of no apparent use to anyone. I wake up every morning a bit miffed about exactly why I have woken up again. There is nothing in the entire world that could surprise me or delight me any longer. I feel a bit like I went on some ropey package holiday but my tour company went bust and I've just been left here. I just can't figure it out and it is beginning to get on my tits a bit. Am I just 'filler'? Are any of us more than that?

Thank you for reading and apologies if I've made you feel anything less than brilliant. It certainly was not my intention to do so, but I'm kind of grasping at straws here. All insights are welcome.

:dunno:

To be as helpful as posible to you my friend and trying to explain also the same things I have felt is that.

You think to much, take things at fun value not at face value and also find comfort of a fun and enjoyment factor even in things that are are a pain to do , or having to help a friend that takes up your me time.

I will talk more to you about this I wanted to say something fast and try to get my attitude about this over to you.

This is true. I feel like such a wuss because I live in Georgia and I can hardly handle the cold we have here. And I always heard about the UK having a lot of cloudy weather- that sucks so bad. A cold day is a little more tolerable when you can see the sun.

I guess I can't complain. But, honestly, January and February seem to drag on forever. I love Spring thru Fall. Winter sucks.

I truly wish we could identify the root cause, and erradicate it.

I tell you what, a good start would be to stop fucking with the food & water supply!! Cut out ALL the chemical raping that's being done to food, planet-wide, and maybe there'd be a little bit of leeway in getting a handle on things.

I understand that most food these days has to travel serious distances in order to reach its destination but you CANNOT TELL ME that with all of the fucking technology and scientific who-hah available these days that we couldn't have food made and able to last just as long, on the shelves and in the delivery trucks, without pumping them full of shit most people can't even pronounce!!

I know, "If you don't want to eat garbage, don't buy it!", but it's getting a little beyond that now. We're being left with ever-shrinking options and I don't for one second believe it has to be this way!! We shouldn't have to pay with our physical AND mental health just in order to consume foods we enjoy. You can't even be sure a piece of "100% certified organic" broccoli is safe from chemical alteration these days. :aargh:

I'm sorry if this offends anybody, but I can't help but be suspicious that outside influences may be at work. I don't know what - these bloody cell phone towers maybe. A few years ago I did some reading up on them, and 2 of the places that had stupidly high suicide rates were also particularly densely packed with these towers / masts.

No offense here!! I agree with ya!! We're being so bombarded with all kinds of electro-magnetic BULLSHIT 24/7 that it's almost no point in trying to fight against it. I say this typing in front of a computer. I realize my position. But there's gotta be a more sensible way of doing things. And those Bridgend suicides were far more than just "coincidence".

Going from Texas to Wales has been a real motherfucker, weather-wise (And that's not all, but I'm staying on topic here.) There are weeks that go by that I do not see the sun. I mean, I love cold, dark, cloudy and rainy but Jesus Fucking Christ, not every goddamned day for weeks at a stretch, c'mon!!! Was NOT prepared for this. :umm:

I'd say there are parts of Scotland (east coast) that definitely get more annual sunshine than parts of NW England.

Have you ever spent time in Manchester? The sun doesn't shine much, seriously.

life sometimes feels more as if you are part of some conveyor belt of never ending beige - moments of joy are few and far between and even feeling utterly miserable can be nicer then the numb that the beige brings.

I have just spent the entire night comforting my mum as her brother died unexpectedly at 1.30am this morning. My uncle was one of those people who grabbed life by the balls and lived as if every day was his last. Because of this he never understood my depression - he did not understand why I could not just 'pull myself together' But he never judged and was so very supportive. In the last few weeks of his life his daughter was operated on for a brain tumour, his house value was wiped to zero thanks to some invasive weed and then last monday he was told he had cancer. Up until his last breath he laughed, he loved and he made the most of the cards he was dealt.

I guess what I am trying to say is that sometimes the only way to escape the monotony of the beige we have to consciously decide to start painting our own rainbow, Find the joy in the little things - force yourself to do the things that scare you most and start living rather then just existing. Carpe diem and all that. change what you can - accept what you cant change and just be the best possible version of you that it is possible to be.

Forgive me if it sounds as if this comes across a bit 'pull yourself together' it is not meant so - it is just some observations from a sleep deprived, slightly distraught numpty who cares very much about someone who she does not know but thinks is one of the nicest, wittiest and slightly barmy internet type friends around - who could never be just 'filler when they manage to inspire people to like them so much just through the power of their personality through type. So there!!
Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

hey abs, come here and sit down. let uncle bats tell you about life.
you get sad sometimes and the world seems too much to take it. little problems look big. thats cos you get scared and being scared of things makes mouses look like lions and shadows look like demons. it makes money problems look like you wont ever be a success, or love problem look like you will be forever alone. its a bad circle of being scared of failing, and being scared of being scared. i dont know what the secret is to get hope back in life but you cant give it up. its a compass and you will get lost without it. just have to live your life, theres no reason to, and theres no reason not to. its all a big waste of time, so try to have fun. dont quit. if something isnt working, try another way. giving up isnt an answer. you will get hurt, you will fall down, you will fail. but you also meet people and change their life, and you can fly with fairy wings and spray your gay dust on people below, and you will win.
theres no scores, everyone dies. its the great equalizer. you never know when its going to happen. game over at any time. so play hard, play to win. and when you have a bad day, or a bad week, or a bad year, it wont always be like that. things can change, but not without some work and effort. it might change without trying, but its random, you can't rely on angels to change your fortune. only abs two manly hands can grip lifes shaft and pump it to fullness.
it happened to me too man, i fall down hard sometimes. i almost give up. its too much to take. a lot of weights on your shoulders and long roads ahead, and its raining, and a skunk died and it stinks. but maybe a friend comes by and gives you a hand. maybe you walk a bit slower, or you find a shortcut, or even take a break. but you don't just sit and rot and hope the destination comes to you cos it never will. you keep going and you find ways to enjoy the journey. you play i spy, or you find some flowers for your mum, or maybe theres some apples on the trees. point is to make it fun other wise its just a shitty old road with dead skunks and ass goblins.

now go on you whipper snapper. catch a big fish, find a clean whore, sharpen your sword and oil your leather pants. adventure awaits you, handsome prince.
my limbless friend will die alone

Hello all...just writing to let you know I'm feeling much better today. How could I possibly not, especially after Bats and Thor's posts above?

I am especially pleased to see my sexy tea-bagger brother Bats back here. Would you believe that this whole thread was just a cunning ploy to get you to post again?

You must never leave again. It will be doubly hard for you next time too, as I'm not moving from your firm and masculine knee (when you told me to sit down I just gravitated towards your lap - uninvited I know, but whatcha gawn do?). :norty:
