Interesting, but doesn't mean a great deal to me.

I am glad that there is that interference re corporations taking the piss. If it were a worldwide thing, we might get somewhere with it, but I can appreciate that it won't work as things are.

Nature of the beast really, isn't it?

I'd rather see a world with no financial incentive whatsoever.
That would basically fix 90+% of the worlds problems in a single swipe.

The argument in the video is flawed: if those selling labour and paying wages collude (which they do) then there is very little minimum incentive. Victorian Britain and sweat shops in Indonesea emplying kids for pennies, not dollars an hour are a real world example.

The man in your first video is of Rothbar: one of the founders of the Cato Institute.

As a maker of things, unlike some people, what do you reccon to this crowd, I think it was added on this forums videos at one time.

Using your own skills to their best potential.

Looks interesting. Will have to have a proper read in a bit. What's all this 'Founding Sovereign' (with a capital 'S') stuff though? :chin:

I thought she was a he. :emb:

It's can be very difficult to sell crafts, like that, especially things that are non essential. When people have money, they are happy to spend it on more frivolous things. People cut back when money is tight. It's a shame, because handicrafts rock. :)

My dad is retired but has a workshop. He is both a welder and a carpenter as well as a shipwright, a bricky and a fine smith. He even has a forge.

He sells exquisite tables made from timber given to him and even drfitwood.

He made an incredible crucifix from a branch thick as an arm that split three ways.

He gave it to the monastery I go to.

The monks and sisters filled up.

I was the only young man left that would listen so I can use a lathe, I can solder (flat and vertiv=cle but not upside down) and Icantile a bathroom, use drill, saw properly and use a bansaw and jigsaw.

I can also bend steel cold. That is tricky but he should me how.

He is going to show me how to make a gate from steel.

The man is awesome and I love him.
