Look just try and read this ok, and please tell me how shit it is and why !???

The World Truth Fetish is a response to the emerging internet activism milieu which is,
based on the fetishization of truth and self justified, uncritical dissemination of information.

Fetish:
1.
an object regarded with awe as being the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.
2.
any object, idea, etc., eliciting unquestioning reverence, respect, or devotion: to make a fetish of high grades.

This sub-culture is born of a genuine dissatisfaction with the status quo, a real thirst for knowledge in a sea of misinformation, a longing for freedom and power,
some truth or meaning in a world in which man is alienated from experiencing them directly, in his everyday life as anything other than a spectator
or as subject to forces beyond his control.

Being removed from the processes of power, estranged from political decision making beyond the occasional ritual of voting,
disenfranchised by and disinterested in democracy devoid of diversity,
yet, being constantly bombarded with evidence of political misrepresentation, financial corruption, the endless indiscretions
and shortcomings of the "elected representatives" via 24hr news coverage on all formats of media,
it is understandable and fully expected when layer upon layer of dissatisfaction,
anger and frustration at the collective inability to improve things builds up, and finds it's expression in extremist politics,
reactionary attitudes and suspicion towards society and it's "controllers".

Experiencing this constant harassment, erosion of living standards, wages and leisure time, facing wholesale rises in the cost of living,
the erosion of personal and civil liberty to fight a War against terrorism, having to work more,
man develops a sense of disconnection with the unfolding of events assuming the role of spectator to 24hr rolling news.
suffer the anxiety of getting hit in the cross-fire.

A sense of anxiety reaches into every aspect of Western life;
from a general fear of social breakdown and identity loss, to a deep unease about diet and health;
from anguish about the destructiveness of climate change, nuclear power and war, to the sense of personal ineptitude and helplessness,
evidenced by TV programmes about how to clean your house, bring up your children or remain solvent.

Having played no part in the planning or execution of legislation, military actions, financial planning and various other aspects of modern power processes having heard about them either 2nd or 3rd hand, from different and at times conflicting sources, then experienced first hand the failings, a suspiscion as to the motivations and interest's at work, developes in the space left by the Establishment narratives failure to predict such situations, to situate events in any political or historical context, or to cover them with the depth formerly attributed to investigative journalism.

The Truth fetish attracts the rebellious or malcontent in opposition to the status quo, from this relation to the processes of power spring
all kinds of ideological, critical and practical potentialities for reacting to or interacting with the physical institutions of power one perceives
as overbearing, oppressive or a threat in everyday life.

The media is an obvious example of an institution considered by the truth fetishists as a threat, due in part to it's influence over the masses, it's invasiveness,
and history as a powerful propaganda weapon, the banks and various financial institutions and dynasties are also considered a threat, some more than others,
due in part to their influence, dominance in the free market and historical development, Freemasonry, certain religions, and certain ideologies are also considered a threat, due in part to their influence, history, and the relative obscurity they enjoy amidst an extrovert dominant culture.

This quest for some substance behind the self perpetuating facade of images that mediates one's relation to those physical institutions
the search for an alternative to the saturation of superficial reporting for mass appeal,
the representing and reporting of "events" (the official narrative of the processes of power), in a spectacular, confusing, proselytizing manner, is unfortunately and ruthlessly, coopted from the beginning by the variously well established, agrresively marketed,
commercial outlets of "Truth".

Those who claim to be purveyors of the highest truth offer a a pre formed narrative, world view and reactionary Ideology incorporating;
obscure historical facts in a conspiratorial narrative, rebranded historical conspiracy theories,
attribution of various social ills to an ethnic minority/social scapegoat, wealthy bloodline, secret society.
This usually coexists with mythological interpretation of history, ancient anomalies, prehistoric structures and a mystical conception of the origins of humanity, it's development and thus good and evil, technology, and is often characterized as part of an evolutionary or spiritual process humanity has to undergo, justifying inaction towards change.

Because its several paragraphs when just a sentence would have done.
People are pissed off and want someone to blame :)

Also the word 'fetish' usually has sexual connotations in modern English, it is ofc designed to provoke emotional response based on that context despite the lengthy explanation below going on to state that people are perfectly justified in having that position.

If they are perfectly justified in being pissed off then how can it be a 'fetish'?
How can it be considered to be 'uncritical' to be pissed off with power that has failed?

If you're not critical about it then you wouldn't have noticed in the first place :D

For me personally, you could maybe skip on a few of the fancy words and fix some puncuation just to make it easier on the brain when reading. But that's about it in a critical sense.

Thanks for taking the time to read and ask some questions, your feedback is gratefully received.

I hoped I'd laid out how you don't need critical thought to feel the disillusionment rife in society in the opening, it's generally a sense of suspicion, aswell as constant bombardment of wrongdoings, it's clearly obvious, and getting pissed off, people tend to throw the baby out with the bathwater enter the truth movement, based on this sense of suspicion the truth movement confirms people's fears, suspiscions, forvgives them their failings, weaknesses, explains how the odds were always stacked against them, and once it has their trust becomes a group fetish.

Which fancy words and why don't you like fancy words? I like french fancies and fancy words :)

Would you say it gets a point across and if so what would you say it is?
Do you think with tinkering the point could be improved?

I don't think you need to be a part of any 'truth movement' so to speak.
Certainly not of the Icke or Jones variety.

Alex Jones is basically just a git who makes money out of paranoid yanks and Icke makes a living out of the same old shit recycled 200 times over at various destinations.

There is no shame in wanting to be self reliant and having disgust with the current establishment be it politics or religion or media.
What we're really on about here is going to extremes and having 'faith' in what someone tells you instead of checking stuff out for yourself.

Whats important tbh here is to never discount anything until you have researched it for yourself but also not to take everything for granted, be it from Alex Jones or for that matter a politician...lets face it, Alex Jones has actually got a better track record than the politicians and thats including his 'red dawn' and the bloody 'y2k' carry on.

There are some extremes in the 'truth movement' we can point at to make an extreme example...sorcha faal would be the ideal choice imho :D (Or sorta fail as we have come to call him)

Then theres David Duke and his nazi scumballs....

They're all full of shite, I don't care what they're peddling. I'd travel half the world to listen to oi give a talk or wub or feather.
Any one of them has far more in the way of 'truth' than you'll get anywhere else. In that sense I stand guilty of being a part of some kind of 'truth' movement and I'm proud of it tbh..

There are truth fetishists here, many have left though, when I'm talking about the World Truth Fetish, I'm talking about the hundreds of thousands of people who post stuff about chemtrails, anti Israel, anti vaccines etcetera, I consider yourselves and others here to be wise people with life experience, so I agree, I'd rather hear what you guys have to say than what icke dreamt up over a crate of tennants.

The most obvious example is to say well 9/11 was an inside job because there were coincidences, that imo, is a form of fetishism, the truth become fetish is the polar opposite of the official narrative, not a moderate position, like there may have been insiders, but the full "it was the US government" line.

Maybe you're not on twitter or facebook, but I assure you, this is a global phenomena with a similar basis to the Anonymous and Occupy stuff.

Interesting pov, Mike. The only thing I might disagree with is that by your definition, I myself am a 'fetishist' in some of my thinking about the way things are and the way we are told that things are.

Ofc, I'm happy to adopt that label in the traditional sense (as I'm nothing if not tradtional) but I don't agree that everyone who may think that there are some interesting bits and pieces to chemtrails or 911 by your definition are necessarily 'out there' or 'fetishists'.

I can also appreciate your point re popular discussion sites (if that is even an appropriate definition of them?) and the way in which they may appear to magnify and polarise popular opinion, by their very nature I suppose?

I like your piece anyway and not in a remotely sexual way (though, I would gladly accept that opportunity should it arise).

Presentation crit: (Just my opinions because you asked, not being a dick).

Be careful with the sentences almost entirely composed of lists. By the time you get to the end you're trying to remember wtf it was about initially. Skim it again and I bet you find you made your point then lost your reader.
I can be prone to it myself on occasion but I am usually just blabbing nonsense, not attempting to present a dissertation.
You write like an academic. On a message board platform that normally does not translate into riveting reading.

[/baitch]

I don't consider myself a part of any 'truth movement', actually I consider it a ridiculous term.
Do I argue or accept that conspiracies happen everyday?
Absolutely, only an idiot would deny that.

I'd definitely agree that since joining the DIF and consequently here, I have seen many who are disenfranchised, pissed off and seeking alternative answers to their concerns but most notably, I've formed the opinion they are really seeking new gurus. (or evoking old gurus, See Adolph for example)
Someone else to: 'do the research, join the dots, provide the Rosetta Stone, form the plan of action.
A few either delusional or commercially sensitive candidates have stepped into those roles or offered themselves up for the gig.

What a marketplace though!
You can claim anything and if someone opposes it you retort that they are sleeping sheep.
Chuck as many dimensions into the mix as suits your needs, who's gonna prove you wrong?
Discuss in confident, factual terms the spiritual and 'energy' wavelengths, declaring their attributes and intents whilst disregarding or ridiculing the requests for empirical evidence with "If you were attuned to a higher degree you would know'.

In short, I suggest the guru is probably the fetish icon from your narrative.

I may be rambling pish, it's 3am and I've not slept for about 30+ hours.

Chemtrails actually do exist and are an acknowledged fact in mainstream media.
eg cloud seeding.

Israel has broken well over 200 UN resolutions, kept a private arsenal of nuclear weapons and has been very vocal about willingness to use them, not only against the muslims but also against Europe and yes even the UK with their 'Samson Option' en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_Option

Vaccines in many cases are PROVEN to have no effect with people getting ill from the very disease they are supposed to protect from afterwards and not only that but many contain a mercury preservative and yes we have actually seen MSM telling people that mercury is good for them.

So all 3 examples above can be dismissed very easily using well known facts, you have to be very precise.

Eg. 'all planes globally emitting chemtrails everywhere'
'anti semitism, jews run ALL the banks etc etc'
'ALL vaccines are used for depopulation etc'

Thank you very much for your critical points there feather much appreciated, i'll definitely take them onboard.

You put across a good alternative, re the guru being fetishized, however i think you might agree, that beyond the individual guru and the message they impart, the subject matter can take on a life of it's own in everyday people who become convinced Medicine, media, music and politics are a malevolent force, or steered by a malevolent external force that controls life, events, reporting of events, people's mental state etc, this attitude, victim, siege mentality becomes the unquestionable aspect of the truth.

You come close to pinning a label on the truth Fetish here:
Chuck as many dimensions into the mix as suits your needs, who's gonna prove you wrong?
Discuss in confident, factual terms the spiritual and 'energy' wavelengths, declaring their attributes and intents whilst disregarding or ridiculing the requests for empirical evidence with "If you were attuned to a higher degree you would know'.
Transmission doesn't have to come from a guru, he guru is the mediary or conduit for universal truth, like the priest he is the salesman or pimp of the fetish, in religions case god, in our case truth.

Well this is essentilly the aim, hopefully for people to provide counter arguments in defense of the truth, leading to analysis of the arguments and whether there is truth in them.

In response to your points, I would not try and debunk them, merely try and further understand your reasoning for raising them.
So are chemtrails that or cloud seeding? Do you accept that cloud seeding in the past is not evidence of Chemtrails now?
If Israel was willing or inclined to use Nuclear weapons against muslims, and willfully flaunts UN declarations why hasn't it used them already? Do you accept that there are plenty of Arab nations in the region that have made threats against Israel?
Do you accept Vaccines have been proven to be effective in eradicating various diseases?

Don't get me wrong it's not people who question that are the fetishists, but those who having questioned the official story and deemed it a lie construct a concept of truth based on various assumptions.
The main assumption I think is that the official story, regarding 9/11, chemtrails, vaccines is a lie, and therefore the opposite must be true?

Yep people do tend to go for opposite extremes instead of looking for some kind of sensible middle ground.
IMHO money is behind most of what goes on, thats a conspiracy everyone is in on though :)
