The new Concrete Canvas Shelter, as it is called, is easily erected by two people in less than an hour and hardens into a concrete structure once it's been filled up with water and blown up, completely setting within a day, according to PSFK.

The UK-based Concrete Canvas company seems to have made the tent with the military in mind*, but it will likely be useful in natural disaster situations as well.

There's no daylight in it. I wonder what its ventilation in like. It would resemble a giant turd whatever colour you made it. I expect it'll have its uses though.

Seriously, my first reaction was more to do with the potential for cheapish/functional public sculpture.
But as usual I was out of step. Sure, develop great ideas but prioritise on aiding and abetting the killing machine first.

As it is really just a scale up of the plastercast bandage idea it's not really that innovative.
Because plaster bandage has been used so much to make castings for artwork I thought "Imagine that on a fuck-off scale!!"
Newspaper shops that look like a pile of newspapers!
Well Women Centres that look like fit women
Garden sheds shaped like giant marrows.

The landscape would change in no time and be as surreal as. :hypo:

but no, its "visionary purpose" is to help people kill people or rig temp shelters and M*A*S*H units.

I'm not impressed and may shake my fist at my screen like that hard, scary, bastard, Richard Madely did.
