there are numerous other areas where the same tactic could be applied. areas such as economics. I've no doubt that we could build enough 'evidence' to show that our glorious leaders have acted criminally under local laws.

Nobody has ever been able to come with anything useful for prosecution afaik. The cops are going to want more than merely whim in such an instance.

In Italy they have an out and out criminal who has even been successfully charged who is running for president...again and theres f-all being done about it. He's still not behind bars despite being quite in your face brazen about it all.
Its taken them donkeys years after numerous complaints to go after Jimmy Saville and even then only after he's bloody dead, and hes just a bloody tv presenter.

But the general public had no inkling about Saville. Why would the authorities at the time who were in the know about him go to any lengths at all to keep it out of the public domain, unless public opinion had the power to force their hand?
