A 9 year old boy hanged himself because the schools would not take bullying seriously . There are 2 issues here a racial issue and bullying issue. No one should have to put up with this abuse wether you are black, brown, white etc.

The troubling bit is when it mentions a knife was used to threaten the boy. If my lad was thretened with a knife at school as a parent he would be taken out of that school full stop.

That's bad. I was bullied biiig time when I was in school.. Not to that extent though. Mostly just mean words. But it takes it's toll when it keep going on for years. Most parents and teachers are completely powerless or don't want to be involved.

Sadly it seems, that most of the time, the bullying only stops with when bullies get their asses kicked, that was I got it to stop. They noticed at one point that I wont take it any more. Nobody helped me out. And lemme tell you, it was quite a many times I felt like jumping off the bridge.

Sad shit, really. It shouldn't go that far. I don't know how it goes in the other countries, but in Finland the system rewards the bullies, their victims are the ones who change schools, the bullies wont be kicked out no matter what they do.

Other schools are reluctant to have the asshole kids so in the main they end up staying where they are whilst the victims have to move.

If there's a logic there I'm missing it. :)

That is so sad and horrifying.

Scared teachers weak family control and young idiot bullies is a prescription for disaster

I really don't know what I would do if a kid of mine *which I don't have any* committed suicide

One of the bullies threatend the boy with a plastic knife .The boys should of been expelled. Very sad that we have so much of a incompetant educational system that sweeps bullying under the carpet.

That is really sad..but it appears to part of human society/nature/ due to lack of education and compassion once again...such is the world we live in...Also bullying takes many forms, just take at the look at the abuse people recieve on the internet/forums etc etc from faceless cowardly type people,a lot of people would not behave like that face to face,...

A distraught mother has claimed that her 11-year-old son was driven to suicide by bullies at his school.

Thomas Thompson took an overdose of painkillers after other pupils picked on him because he was clever and well-spoken, she said...

His 33-year-old mother, who also has an eight-year-old daughter, Alexandra, said: "He told me how they got at him every day - trying to strangle him with his tie, poking him.

"It was like torture. They'd call him names like 'gay boy' and 'fatso'. He didn't really fit in with other boys his age.

"He was extremely clever and loved reading and doing his schoolwork. So they teased and tormented him relentlessly - just because he was a bit different. These bullies killed my son."..
A teenager was found hanged at his home after allegedly being bullied over the Internet by pupils from his school.

Casey Knibbs, 13, received taunts and death threats from four other pupils on his home page on the popular teenage chat site Bebo.

It is believed a former girlfriend was involved in the bullying, which started after the pair had split up.

The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you.. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!
