Too many people living right on top of each other in small brick houses with a dense population.

I was really unaware of what poverty was like in the UK until i watched the movie "Fish Tank"

Then after that i watched the video about "Moss Side" oioioi posted and i started watching more video's.

I already told you all that i have coached High School basketball in a US city that has a 30X higher murder rate than London.

In my last 4 coaching seasons about 2 kids per year get shot from my team/program of 45-50 kids...Freshman,JV,Varsity.

Now i realize that the UK would be just as bad if not worse than parts of the US if guns were legal to buy there.

The perspective i had on UK poverty has changed significantly in the last few day's just from youtube video's.

Lots of dangerous people do have guns in Britain. We call them the police.

In England, "guns don't kill people, wappers do". Oddly we have the Welsh to thank for raising awareness of that fact.
This is the way of the "union". The separate nations all work together to further understanding.

Tbh, thank Fuck we have the royals to keep this vital info network together!

www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_ass_vic-crime-assault-victims

Thats assault victims as a % of the population RA.

Thats probably why the UK is best off with fewer guns but they're still around ofc.
They just use knives instead.

As you can see, its a pretty violent place. There are more violent countries but they don't have accurate crime recording.
Those stats are only comparable between developed nations such as the EU + US.

I've been to a lot of countries in my time, in person not via watching a video and let me reassure everyone, the UK is one of the most violent places I've ever been.

RA - you can get guns here, but they're very illegal and generally the preserve of gangs (not just the notorious 'police' gang). A lot of inner city shootings simply do not get reported. If I wanted a gun I'd have to ask friends to ask friends who might know some dodgy guy who can get them - it's that sort of thing.

What I want to know is how come in America you get this we need our guns to protect us from government tyranny notion, yet where the fuck are all these fearless armed warriors when the police attack protestors? All gun owners in America seem to do is shoot an animal from half a mile away and call it "sport", spout off about git off mah property and occasionally go crazy and shoot loads of innocent people. That's if they're not gang members fighting over their pissing ground.

DM I think you have pointed to something very revealing.

The "conservatives" I remember seemed to think that during the LA riots they had no problem whatsoever with the US Marines being deployedagainst the civilian popuation.

I also reme, ber them being the first to screach "Why do you hate America?" when they heard even the slightest crtiticsm of American government and quckly label critics as "withe terrorists!"

Since Obama's victory in 2008 all of a sudden it has become "Patrioitc" to be anti-governemnt for just about every conservative American I know.

They are all full of shit: they are pro-Republican government and anti-Democrat government no matter how much Ron Paul worship goes on.

9-11 changed everything one way and the election of Obama changed it back.

Every authoritarian left or right wing is quite happy to use the army against civilians.
When the riots were on Nigel Farrage was all for it on TV for example and he calls himself a libertarian ;)

You're watching the wrong sport...you need the one with the BIG men with proper thighs...playing with an odd shapped ball!...NO PADDING OR HELMETS EITHER! :D

Well of course! films portray life as it really is. At least that is what I assuming is the lesson you were taught.

I am very pleased to belive that my country is less violent and dangerous than the US. I don't think that it deserves scorn or ridicule
and neither would I be proud of my society, if it were as violent and dangerous as the US.

Nevertheless, I hope that the UK becomes less violent. Italy and Japan are far safer places to be.

BTW, the US are still "pussies" compared to lads of other countries when it comes to ha ving tough streets.

Mexico pwns you.

Thank god for that, having tough streets is nothing to be proud of...

But US poverty is very segregated unlike what i perceived as multicultural poverty in the UK after watching "Fish Tank"
