Not very helpful, I know - but my first two courses were back in the days when students were fully financed to the extent that we even got our "spending money". As a part time student today, it's all done on loans that have to be repaid when earnings reach £21k or over (so, a "soft loan" that, unlike those from a bank, doesn't have to start being repaid that same month, and they are a lot cheaper).
