I watched this clip of David Icke and i was wondering what your thoughts are about it.

Who is it aimed at ?,is it for wealthy people with no health issues living in a nice neighbourhood ?

Would a starving refugee learn anything from watching this video or a person suffering physical and mental cruelty on a daily or weekly basis ?

Do we really make our own reality ?

It's obviously aimed at a certain group of people and not inclusive surely, what would prisoners of a concentration camp have learnt from this video.

Its obviously complete and utter shite.

The reality we make is CO-created, not self created.
In that sense he is correct but only if you view it that way and not in a stupid quasi religious way.

For example; Money is a co-created reality and everything attached to it. It does not exist in an actual real world sense, yet we cannot get rid of it because we all have such strong faith in it. We can only evolve past it along with other religious beliefs, cultural mindsets, politics etc etc.

You cannot individually 'wish' the world away though, such stuff is reserved for quasi new age spiritual horseshit.

Good post andyh, can't disagree with you.

Icke just ignores any form of repression and victimisation which takes place on a large and small scale every day with this silly notion.

If he said before his talk that it was aimed at people who try to get fulfillment from buying objects and are into oneupmanship then fair enough.

Icke has a problem. He cherry picks stuff from everywhere, never really exploring the subjects he picks from.
He then throws all those bits together into a package, using the odd pyshedelic experience as a cornerstone. Not being eloquent he then waffles on and on, skirting around 'truths' and never really getting the point across. He leaves himself open to misinterpretation. He misrepresents 'truths'. Consequently he devalues the 'truths' in his compilations. Whether he is co-opted or not, he ends up doing good work for tptb as a result.

Does he believe in reincarnation?

Some right wingers and fascists promote the idea of reincarnation and use it to justify peoples place in society.

:bravo:

And also the implications are fucking evil.

So unfortunate people, people who suffer, they are just making their own reality a bummer, eh?

Nice way to blame the victim and avoid feeling compassion or actually really helping people

No. Life is unfair. Drop the tin-foil hat and get a helmet.

Above all remember that it could have been you.

I'm a product of society, society/reality made me. It did the same to my folks, their folks etc ad nauseum.

That's the reality.

We are currently creating the next generations society/reality.

I came to realise that Icke must have a lot of his *research* given to him. I made a point of reading most of the books he references in the biggest secret, and how he came to the reptile notion is just beyond belief, quite often just taking one line or sentence from a book and completely failing to deliver the counter arguments that were contained therein.

He's a snake oil salesman, and he knows it.
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

That's a complete lie.

A fascist or a person who has had support in there life would say that but people victimised by the system wouldnt.

The class system was created and is maintained to sell the idea of people creating their own reallity.

I find ickes silly ideas offensive.

The maxim, "we create our own reality" is a good example of what I am saying about Icke.

Our attitudes, emotions and state of mind all affect our experience of life. Our choices are affected, the way others interact with us likewise.
What we put out DOES affect what we get back. If we are clear and calm we can roll with life easily. If we are clear and calm about what we need, we can make it a reality.

However, for Icke to take it to the level he does is as humanspirit says, offensive. HS is right to say that those oppressed by the system can't just wish it all away. If they could, Gaza would be a very different place...

You can create your own perception of Reality, or misperception, you can also allow someone else to make one up for you, which I suspect is the whole point of this stuff.
Where the mind goes the body follows, and the meatpuppet holds the cash, among other things. (dat ass)

You can create things in Reality of course, I remember listening to a Ritual Magician interviewed who viewed "Magick" as a purely Psychological exercise with the Ritual aspect setting the Psychology or Intent of the practitioner, he pointed out that the "Magick" was irrelevant if action was not taken in Reality. This New Age Quantum Mysticism removes the necessary "action" element.

John Taylor Gatto has an excellent interview series I'll link up where he shows the history of this back as far as Plato, with a key recent figure being Immanuel Kant, Kant Ironically was a major influence on Hegel(problem reaction solution anyone? ) ( who was a major influence on Marx).

"Kant proposed a "Copernican Revolution-in-reverse", saying that:
Up to now it has been assumed that all our cognition must conform to the objects; but ... let us once try whether we do not get farther with the problems of metaphysics by assuming that the objects must conform to our cognition.[4]"
:killinme:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immanuel_Kant

Gnosticmedia also has an excellent set of interviews on this, particularly focusing on the Anti Copernican Revolution and Quantum Mysticism.

If anyone is interested in the roots of this I think you will find the following links very informative.

www.gnosticmedia.com/david-harriman-inte...he-logical-leap-112/

The above is 5+ hrs long, I'd recommend to listen to the commentary swell , which is another 10 hrs or so, by far the most educational media I have ever come across.
The 15hrs are here in audio format, from episode 41 on.
peacerevolution.podomatic.com/ (seems to be a problem with the main site right now)
schoolsucks.podomatic.com/

Schoolsucksproject covers the topics in "The American Way " series and "Logic Saves Lives" if I remember correctly, a search for Kant would turn up a lot of results and point you in the right direction.
schoolsucksproject.com/

For a shorter analysis check out Prof Dave Chapelle , 2 mins 32 s.
:D

The real world evidence suggests that the people who forward this nonsense do not themselves believe it, who would have a fundraising drive when you could imagine money into (a  ) reality.
Whether they are conscious of their own beliefs is speculation.
