I can tell people that all matter is merely a vibrational state of the atom, so really there is only different forms of energy but its of no bloody use whatsoever unless you know how to change it and you do that via science and the comprehension of that science to a degree where you can apply technology to it.
Its via technology that we change our world and expand our perceptions, not with hocus pocus new agey bollox.

So yes, the universe is a far more mystical place than you can perceive but its of little practical significance if you don't have the scientific knowledge to understand it and to be able to apply some engineering to come up with practical uses for it.

IMHO this new agey stuff is simply an offshoot of the rapid technological advances, its there as a way for lay people to try and grapple with it.
