We did try Gilly. We ended the evening early as a result of their actions. Getting them out the door however proved rather hard.

I might be a bit thick here....but why weren't the police and RSPCA called? At the very least citizens arrests made, you couldn't have held me back if I had been there. Given this was a booking/hire they can be found.

Doing something is better than doing nowt. How much nicer it would have been if you could have come on here and told us this story, but how something was done about it. Instead, we now have 300 lunatics out there probably booking their next 'private function' only to do the same again. At the very least some publicity about this appalling event would have put other places on alert to this nasty, racist group of people.

It might explain to some extent the xenophobia as Haredi Judaism does have its elements of extremism and not all of their tenants are compatible with modern notions of liberal humanism.

Segregation based on religion, ethnicity and gender spring to mind.

I think in its most conservative form, it plays the equivalent part within Judaism as say Fundamentalist Christians or Wahhabi Muslims do but one might also see parallels with the practices of Amish or the Presbyterian/United Reformed Church.
