Although it's a shame you didn't post that you were going to buy a smart phone Abs, as 3 give you unlimited internet for 15 quid a month on PAYG (with loads of minutes and texts too) so you wouldn't have had the problem you're on about with stuff running in the background.

You can install a firewall to completely block all of the apps from accessing the internet, but you would need a bit of know how to do that, so I won't completely bore you with tech gibberish..

It's not so bad...I just haven't had the money to get myself on one of their plans yet. They do these bundle thingies where if you put so much on every month you get stuff like minutes and unlimited texts too.

I'm just confused about when I'm being charged and when I'm not tbh, but that's only because I've never had one of these do-hickeys before. Really, I'll just be using it to send texts and nob-shots, so hopefully that won't be too expensive.

I'll stick with my Carrier Pigeons and a decent Quill.

I'd be happy to not have one at all but it appears I don't exist without one. I still have my trusty rotary dial at home...that nobody ever rings.

A lad at uni was going on the other day about not being able to watch Back to the Future on his phone coz it's not widescreen. I couldn't believe people could be arsed to watch films on their phones, nevermind pretty old ones that are on telly every few weeks.
