Hello, you lovely bastards...
Just popped back to share something with you all. 'Ordinary' folk just tend to look at me funny when I spout stuff like this, but you lot generally regard me as a freak anyway, so it doesn't matter so much here.
I have stumbled upon something quite marvellous, and I'd like you all to be in on it too.
Recently, I have started to notice some things about the world around me. Now that I see them, it amazes me that I never noticed before. In all honesty, I believe this to be part of the 'experience' and in large part a necessary premise. We arrive here knowing these things, or at least remembering them, but over time (which doesn't really exist either), we forget and are told by others who think they know better because of the length of time they have been 'here' that we really ought to think more like them and do things another way.
I'm starting to believe that everything you see, hear, touch and smell - everything that comes into your 'experience' is actually a direct reflection of your inner self. On a grander scale, world-events and the very issues we all gather here to moan about are a direct reflection of the inner self of 'us'. I have long regarded our physical world - as does science - as being made up of the same stuff as us. The desk I now sit at is merely a collection of atoms bound a little tighter or differently than my own GORGEOUS body.
I'm also starting believe, because experience has proven this to me time and again, would that I had been paying attention, that we are all, collectively and individually, responsible for our own experiences whilst 'here'. There are occasions where a soul is born into some terrible conditions, but these conditions are really only terrible subjectively. 'Awful' things can and do happen to people. Every day. In truth, I haven't quite reconciled some of these in my own mind, but I can appreciate the value of every experience, even those that I might regard as abhorant, to such a being (if that's even the right word) as my soul.
If we are all 'one', as has been suggested countless times over our history, and we are here to experience everything other than that oneness from which we spring forth, then all experience in this, our physical playground, is valuable. There is no right or wrong in those terms, though this is a difficult aspect for our conscious selves to grasp in many instances. My
self included.
It also follows that there is no past or future - only the present.
We are powerful creators and we are in a state of grace by our very being here. Our thoughts have and will always continue to shape the world we perceive around us. Simple things in your everyday life can easily be dismissed as coincidence or just another part of the everyday drudgery of existence, or they can be taken as clues as to your internal state. That, as ever, YOUR choice, yet another facet and wonderful aspect of the physical world we all share together.
See, you can know this stuff (and you all do know this stuff) but, just like an infant with a new toy, you can pretend not to know, for a little while at least. It can make things more fun sometimes, and certainly makes for a more interesting learning experience. When it is time to go home however, you will remember and may even kick yourselves for making your playtime so bloody difficult for yourself.
So...2014 for me is a new start. It may very well be an arbitrary date with no real significance (particularly when you realise that 'time' actually means very little) but I shall be making the most of it. Literally, 'making' the most of it. This is the work I came here to do and I have finally remembered that. If there are aspects of my experience that no longer please me, I shall be making every effort to remove them from my experience, let go of them, at the very least, cut them off from my attention to them. In a universe comprised entirely of energy, which this is, your attention to a subject only serves to feed it further. Everything is energy. Give your energy (or attention) to those things you wish to see more of, and not to those things you no longer desire.
You may well think me bonkers-barmy but you now have a new, fresh year in which to try this out for yourself. What have you got to lose? In case you were actually wondering, the answer is nothing. You do however, have a whole world of wonderful, life-affirming, rejuvenating experiences just waiting for you to shift your attention to them. That really is all it will take and ever has it been so. It has also always been the case that everything you could require to get along quite swimmingly in this experience is already neatly packed and stored away within YOU. You have only to unpack and utilise those tools. You may continue to look to others for answers but eventually, like me, you will come to affirm to yourselves that 'others' will only ever be a mirror of your self. All the answers you require are and always were, within you.
I love you all...have a wonderful 'experience'. I sure as shit am going to from now on.
Now, where did I put that creme-de-menthe?
