Might be worth contacting our service provider ourselves and getting their view. If in their view it would be best to take it down then fair play - if however they feel no violation has taken place than leave as is.

I'm absolutely certain "fair use" would have applied but courtesy would still oblige us to link back imho.

I would have preferred to see a polite request to link/delete rather than an unnecessary heavy handed demand which almost mandates a counter reaction but that's maybe just me. I also think we can rise above that impulse to react.
