My understanding is that the copyright automatically exists however people still need to take steps to protect their work and to be able to prove that they hold such a copyright. Which is what it sounds like you did jane. You would still have the copyright had you not but no way of proving so.

You're right. Althrough it's so hard to remember it sometimes. I have copied so many things in the past and never linked to any sourches. Many people do tend to forget this (me included)..

Even through, I do not think this was an illigal action made, they are just obsessed with it like you said. This just proves how they read everything we write as they clearly have no better things to do. Even if it was an illigal action made no police would spend too much time on this as it's noncense from her side.
