'Call everyone Dave day' set up in memory of Only Fools' Trigger actor Roger Lloyd-Pack

A "CALL everyone Dave day" has been organised as a tribute to Only Fools and Horses character "Trigger", played by actor Roger Lloyd-Pack.

The event has been organised by a Facebook page set up to honour the late Lloyd-Pack, who died two weeks ago aged 69.

On February 8, thousands of fans of the show will become cult hero Trigger for one day and one day only.

The date, which would have been Lloyd-Pack's 70th birthday, will see fans calling everyone else Dave during their daily tasks.

More than 13,000 people like the page and #DaveDay has been trending on social networking sites.

I suppose a Call Everyone Dave Day is quite a good idea compared to all the other meaningless shit we do all day, every day. When there is something as meaningful as a Call Everyone Dave Day, celebrating the life and work of an actor most famous for being in a sit-com, it really brings it home to you what is important in life, like do we watch enough television? Have we, as a species, got our priorities straight seeing as there are so many people not watching television? What would the actor that played Mike from The Young Ones do? Are there any other totally worthwhile things, other than watching television, we could spend our precious lives on, like watching sport, or even just thinking about sport?
