I am just watching sunday politics south west. They have a piece about the lib dems coming out in support of a cornish assembly a la wales. With perhaps an eye on full scale devolution.
Mebyon kernow will no doubt be raising glasses.
It would need a lib dem gov so it will not happen but it does seem that the idea is gaining ground across the politico spwctrum.
Interesting.

I didn't post this in support of cornish nationalists btw, my interest is twofold.
I think decentralisation of 'power' is very much the right direction to go. Hopefully culminating in individual power.
I would very much like to see the break up of the uk. Hopefully culminating in no more kings and queens of britons.

On the one hand decentralisation has to be a good thing, on the other hand the fact it's being allowed to be mooted without much objection from tptb makes me think there's an element of divide and conquer to it in 'their' eyes.

Agreed. There is no such word as philanthropy in tge politico dictionary imo.
Definitely an underlying agenda. Which in topical context is um interesting to me.

The EU requires states to be split up into regions in order to replace nations. Hence devolved assemblies = good but full independence = bad.

If the UK (and the rest of the word) split up into natural regional areas with no rulers it could be better?

Yes. But that's not about to happen either, unless the Queen signs over the land ;)

i think you are at least in the right wood there.
At least in part.
I can also see a possible subtext of fomenting nationalism across europe.
Perhaps the divide angle oi mentioned. Perhaps we are being led to the next reich...

Golden Dawn are dying a slow death here with more and more of their MP's having 'immunity' lifted yet for some reason they appear to be embarking on a bit of European tour to garner support :dunno:

This was their recent 'welcome party' in Italy
