As some of you may know, I do a bit of woodcarving as a hobby, and my favorite type of carving is relief carving.
I'm also a huge history buff, and the other night I was musing on how awesome ot would be to relief carve the Bayoux Tapestry.

Then lo and behold - quite out of the blue when I was looking for something totally unrelated I came across this. It blew me away!

Have to laugh - each one of those panels is longer than I am tall. :D
Must have cost him a fortune for the wood, but wow - what a nice job!
Takes real dedication to do something like this.
