Hello all,

Am putting this here as I can never remember what the difference actually is. I know 'general' in other places is just where everything seems to go initially, but I was told that 'general' here was supposed to serve a different purpose.

Though I can't quite now remember exactly why. I'm trying to keep it 'tidy' but am not sure what should be moved and what shouldn't.

Could a kindly member of admin please specify here, so we can all see?

To clarify...I was of the thinking that 'general' was to be reserved for posts pertaining specifically to the Sanctum community, as in things that effect the forum or perhaps even issues with the other place.

Also - don't worry too much about where you post stuff everyone. This is really just for my clarification more than anything else.

General. I love the General

I think the concept is to sub divide the general category into areas which cater for items which are of interest to people generally whether they are part of our community or not. It would also be content of more news worthy type articles which are not current headline news.

The members general is really a place for member related content which may have appeal to people within our community rather than the general population. For example members here might be mildly interested about your colour choice of boxers today, where the general population couldn't give a toss.

I wasn't involved in the categorisation schema for the forum so that's a bit of a guess on my part, and shouldn't be accepted as complete or indeed correct information.

I'm gonna go with stripey, navy blue with white stripes

whereas members chat is for example similar to members lounge in other forums, like you know where for example. A place to relax and talk about things that perhaps arent news worthy or serious discussions.

of course threads can often take a turn, change direction, so i for one am aware and resigned to the fact that the categorising threads isnt always going to be perfect!

sometimes serious threads become not so serious and vica versa.

but generally speaking, these were our objectives for the two categories.

as for the one in the private forums, its a bit of both as the line needs to be drawn somewhere at the amount of categories we have.
