I don't really know where to start this thread, so I am putting it here. Mods etc feel free to move it if it is in the wrong place.

I am not of the "Cassiopean" philosophy, nor am I sure about all this channelling of Beings of Good Will for our benefit stuff. But it does interest me and I am always open to reading about everything of this kind. For that reason, I sometimes visit the Cassiopea Forum where they have some very interesting discussions. The topic is a bit of a minefield isn't it! Freedom to express yourself and dress however you wish is great. Be that a short skirt, an 18 inch mohican or a lycra gimpsuit. However we present ourselves, someone is going to have an opinion, a like or a dislike, respect or disrespect or any combination of such things.
And that doesn't just apply to outward appearance of course, also how we conduct ourselves. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love and freaks gonna freak.
Is it 'right' to objectify people? No of course not.
Is it wrong for someone to look at a buff bloke with no shirt on and go phwooarr? Not really no, it's fairly basic animal attraction stuff.
Do blokes take their shirts off in the hope that people will do just that? Some no doubt ofc.
Do ladies wear thongs on the beach cos they want people to check their buns? Some no doubt ofc.
I think I'm trying to say that there's no catch all answer, just a minefield.
If someone gets into porn and jerks off regularly are they harming anyone? Arguably themselves but also arguably, no-one else. The porn stars may well be doing the job through their own free will and may well get paid hansomely for summat they enjoy. But if that porn head then starts going out into the world with inappropriate or worse behaviour then ofc, it's very wrong indeed.
Live, let live, do unto others what you'd have done to you and be kind, to yourself and everyone else. Winning combo

So long as the adults involved are totally willing, I absolutely couldn't care less what people get up to, how they approach sex, and to what end.

Edited to add: I know it's not quite what the topic is about, it's just that I don't watch T.V., adverts, read papers and/or magazines, so in that sense, I'm completely divorced from the sexual exploitation in the media.

That said, it is a topic all too well ignored, the same as death... which is of course entirely curious, seeing as we arrive here through the act of sex, and leave here with the passing of death.

I mean, did it not occur to her at any stage that she might be objectifying herself slightly? You can't really willingly make yourself into a sexual object and then be surprised when people sexually objectify you.

Also, she states that her partner treats her with respect, or whatever. I'm sure that's true. I also think it's also extremely naive, or possibly downright stupid, to think that he doesn't also view her as a sexual object. One doesn't exist in a vacuum in complete isolation from the other. It's possible to respect someone and view her as sexually desirable, otherwise how would we ever get round to sowing our seeds? Sex, sexuality and sexual attraction is completely non-objective, you don't sit there on a date weighing up the pros and cons of a person and attempting to come to a reasoned conclusion about whether or not they're attractive. Women don't do this, men definitely do not!

What she is essentially stating is that she wants to be viewed as sexual in a certain context in a certain method of her choosing, but then not be viewed as sexual in another context not of her choosing. It doesn't work like that. If you don't want to be viewed that way, definitely don't go into pop music!

I saw a post on fb the other day and it was a pic of Rowetta who used to be a singer on the Madchester scene... sang with Happy Mondays. It was her birthday, she was on holiday and she looked pretty hot.
So the comments were from girls were like "looking fab" and the comments from guys were like "wow, looking great" - which Is probably more meaning "I'd like to partake in pleasures with your curvature ".
But one guy was quite open in his comments... "I'd ruin you for your birthday ".
This really stuck in my mind as quite an appalling comment, but he was probably the only guy who said what he was really thinking.
