Arguably the most famous captain of the English cricket team was Scottish. Also, the current Scottish cricket team are pretty good. Additionally, Alex Salmond is a fan of the sport, and has appeared on Test Match Special.

Apart from that Dawn, I agree with you!

It's not everyone's cup of tea. I assure you the bowlers are trying extremely hard, bowling at 85-90 mph is not easy, nor is facing it.

I don't really watch a lot of sport on TV, but I would be lying if I didn't confess to feeling a certain warm feeling when I see a game in the park or hear the ball hit and the shout of howzat!

Still, not my sport. Neither is rugby.

But it gives a lot of people a lot of harmless pleasure.

I mean I play D&D :P

99% of TV programmes are shite.

Where to begin when you analyse sport.

Sport is based around the competitive nature and fitness of people with elements of what is known as skill or learned routines.

The worst thing about sport is the way sponsorship and advertisement has been attached to it.

No matter how silly some sports look if you didn't have the rules as part of the competitiveness it would just revolve around punching each other.

Cricket is not very inclusive as you need all the equipment and space to play it.
