Meh, sorry, as soon as I wrote it I thought it was a bit off of me.

Should have waited a few posts before going in with the barf smilie & the old 'are you from Dublin, Surrey or Asia?' routine :)

Never met a Manc Man Utd fan though, honest.
Though further investigation of the basis for my stereotype reveals I've only ever met ONE Mancunian :D
...& then there's the Gallagher brothers.... theory obviously proved = all Mancs support Man City :spliff:

To further add to my opinion, I live in Dorset and no endless amounts of Utd fans. Many of them are cunts.
Though, to try & be reasonable, I concede I've never been to Manchester. & many other teams have cunt supporters too.

I also apologise as now sober I realise derogatory smilies should be reserved for Leeds fans only. :fap:

Although half of Manchester clearly does support United!
I have to be honest and say that when I lived in Manchester I met far more United fans than City.

It's a good joke to perpetuate, but unfortunately it doesn't work out in reality. Of course, what does happen is that United draw vast support from all over the place. It'll be interesting to see how long that continues if they have a very poor spell (which I think is pretty unlikely).

If they start to lose fans they were never fans in the first place.
But If United went through a considerably long period without any success at all obviously the brand would naturally plummet.
The whole thing of missing out on success in the game now (such as no CL) is a very slippery & tricky slope to climb back up. It's made considerably harder by clubs that just amass as many expensive players a possible, which also tends to drive up transfer prices. But clubs like Arsenal & Liverpool prove that it can be done by being reasonably shrewd (aside from joke purchases such as Andy Carroll... what were they thinking of?!) Yet Moyes needs to make about 6 purchases so it will be interesting to see how much faith the owners really place in him after such a feeble start.

I went through the late 60's and 70's with UTD, god we were shit. Relegation ffs, I went to every away game in the 2nd division, didn't always get in. We were shite, the songs on the stretford were "we're gonna win fuck all again this year". George Best was not worshiped in them days either. I've enjoyed the Fergie Years, and now no matter how shit Utd become, I will always be a fan.

Sad isn't it? x x x

I wish Taggart didn't have to retire. :D
I very much doubt we'll ever see anything like that again. Not just at United, but any club.
By the time we're all dead.
Taking bets now....

They're never going to have any problems filling Old Trafford, that's for sure. It's more whether people would keep signing up for their Korean credit card if they're not doing all that well. I don't expect it to last for any sustained period, although English football is slightly different to the continent, the big European clubs are so huge now that they have to be woefully mismanaged to experience any lasting malaise.
I wish Taggart didn't have to retire. :D
I don't know why he did, he still goes to every fucking game! I thought he was supposed to be taking his wife all over the world. He still managed to fit in attending a mid-week league cup tie in Sunderland. I would avoid that at any age, but certainly at retirement age it is one to skip. I'd be in the Maldives.

He's doing what he enjoys I suppose... but he's still on the cash cow as well, doing talks for something like £200k, and his book. Some people just don't seem to think "right, that's enough of all this hassle, I'm just gonna swan around with my millions having a great time.'
He did a book signing at the enormous newish Tesco near OT. It was absolutely packed & he stayed there all day signing his name for drooling fans. Seems like a load of mither to me.

Chelsea's 6-0 win over Arsenal was very impressive.

It just goes to show what multiculturalism can achieve

I hope the fans are especially appreciative of Russia for giving them Roman Abramovich.

Arsenal have taken a right hammering from some of the top sides in the last couple of years.
I almost felt sorry for them....
then I remembered it was a special day for Wenger with it being his 1000th game, so I had a little chuckle instead. :chuckle:

I'm really bored of City fans now. Harp harp fucking harp.
When United would routinely beat city in more recent years, that would be the end of it. It was just run of the mill stuff for United.
Now all the stats are coming out... how much it cost to assemble each team etc. Hundreds of pictures of Moyes being a bumbling clown.
I really hope they blow the league just for boring me.
