You're missing the point, Ent. The vid didn't say or imply that Ian Tomlinson was killed by water cannon. It said, how can we trust the police with such a dangerous weapon given their existing record for excessive violence citing Tomlinson, Mendez & Meadows as examples.

It's a pretty safe bet that Wagner had glasses on, since he's clearly pictured wearing glasses prior to the picture of him after being blinded by a water cannon. Lots of people do wear glasses. So is it acceptable for the authorities to potentially blind them for demonstrating, do you think?

Sorry, Ent. The point about the police being known to be overly violent is perfectly valid in the context of looking at any addition to their arsenal.

If I'm exercising my right to peacefully demonstrate, and get kettled, I can maybe dodge the batons etc, dependent on my position in the crowd. The water cannon enables the police to physically assault me where ever I'm positioned, because its aim can be manouvered to get the entire crowd.

Rubber bullets? Fkoff! You must be really against anyone speaking out against the government, eh!

If they pump coke zero instead of water it makes it even more lethal.
