Erm........
Driller Dart Energy revealed some shocking truths at a meeting in the small Scottish village of Airth last night.

Company representatives told an appalled audience they planned up to 100 wells in the area, representing a huge increase over previously announced plans.

Angry residents pointedly asked whether fracking would be used as Dart drills for Coal Bed Methane (CBM). The company looked uncomfortable and refused to answer. Fracking is commonly used with CBM, with fracking plans at CBM sites in Canonbie on the England/ Scotland border and at Doe Green in Cheshire (see Igas CEO’s admission to parliament – search for ‘Doe Green’)

The driller also let slip that they had compulsory purchase orders whereby locals would be forced to sell their properties to the company.

Re the above vid- c 34mins plus in - a couple of points are made which strike home to me

Splinter groups- local autonomous groups - working independently - requiring no authority - just ''doing''. No central platform or ''leader'' required (should I say Messiah - you get the drift)

govnt intend to frack 2/3 of this country - as articulated by the guy from Balcombe - Charles Metcalfe

Now I know this to be accurate - so I'll share my story. Take it as you will.

My bro has worked in the industry all his life (40 years) and is in no shape or form a 'conspiracy theorist or 'truther'. Poignantly for me, he suffered a cat iV brain cancer last year - has pulled thro so far - and during our recent chats and catch ups, he asked me 'are they fracking near you'?''.....
I was bemused - he's lost some of his cognitive process - some of his speech and memory, so that was out of ballpark.

I said 'not yet''.

His words.
"I had all the information on all the sites they intend to frack across the UK'' ''I can't remember the detail''. ''I know it's dangerous - it should not be allowed - and they will frack near you''. "They plan to frack almost the whole of this country"

''You must stop them''

No soap, no drama- whether they call it ''acid etching'' or 'fracking' - it's the same thing. I heard it from someone whom I trust with my life.

Yes they will continue -unless we can stop them

There is big money to be made - and imo - a 'non compliance ''dance'' in Wembley and 24/7 broadcast (that isn't) is not the way to stop them.

( :emb: Impassioned invective over)

Hi refugee,
Thank you for your post. Others on here already know my stance on frakking...I hate it with a passion.
30+ years ago I was studying Geography at Uni. The question of frakking came up then in a combined geography and geology seminar. Both lecturers agreed even then, that anybody who went down the frakking road (and yes I know I am spelling it incorrectly...it's my little way of putting the fuck into frakking) would be completely insane. At the time I had never heard of it, but it is something that has always stuck with me. They explained it in detail, and the sort of chemicals used. From what I have read the process and the chemicals that they do tell us about (some are 'secret') nothing has changed in the 30 years.
It's a nightmare waiting to happen.
As to today's latest about compulsory purchase...the whole thing stinks like TPV...only with far, far worse consequences.
We are ALL going to pay dearly if this goes ahead, and I suspect, from the little we know of the consequences of this abominable practice over in the States....is only the tip of the iceberg

This is exactly it. This is, as I've said previously, is what economists do. Don't be ridiculous, retail banks won't go under. Don't be daft, countries won't be bailed out by the IMF. Don't be stupid, there won't need to be trillions of dollars of QE.

Oh, retail banks have gone under, countries are being bailed out by the IMF and there is trillions of dollars of QE. This is all perfectly natural, we always suspected this would happen, it's no cause for alarm, it's just happening due to these perfectly rational reasons.

It's the same with fracking, nuclear power, GM foods, drilling through the Antarctic, you fucking name it. Sad apologists for this corporate fascist system.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

@oi- what can I say - fucking bunch of turds- and that's from an OAP who was never taught to swear. I recognise some of those protectors - I salute them.

@angel - I know Ian Crane - he alerted me to the dangers -and i've been following up with my own research. For me this is a line that cannot be crossed. The nightmare must not be allowed to happen.

Locally (now in UK) I'm trying to raise awareness of the issues, posting on village notice boards - flyers at the surgery and garage - just getting locals to understand what is potentially coming their way. Some get it -some don't.
Drip feed - talking to people - sowing a seed. There's a reasonable community spirit here - need to build on that - cos looking at the map for future fracking- it's pretty much everywhere.

For me too, it makes my blood boil.

I haven't watched the vid so if he is exposing the insanity of fracking then  to him.

Just I seem to remember his name over at TPUC a good while back. I might have remembered it wrong but wasn't he they guy that had convictions for nortyness and took over the citizen's arrest of the judge at that Wirral CT case? Also remember summat about BNP connections :dunno:
Like I said, I may have that wrong and it might not have been him. :dunno:

Edit: Scratch that. I think that was Ray St Clair or summat.... As you were then :emb:

Ian has always been oil industry so far as I know.

Yeah Roger Hayes was the guy fighting the CT case. It was the St Clair bloke that did the opportunism thing and I'm pretty sure he brought some BNP with him. Icke knows how I got the two confused?

Purity of beer ‘threatened’ by fracking
German brewers have called on Angela Merkel’s government to block plans to “frack” shale gas reserves over concerns it could taint the purity of the country’s beer.

www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2014/01/beer-p...eatened-by-fracking/

French have said ''non''- what's the betting Germans will follow suit? Leaves the rest of Europe to be decimated?

Bend over Camer on and take it................?

For sure he will -esp if he's got the right sort of investments - same as the city of london and lllibeth.

... fracking absolutely fucking terrifies me... I had to pluck up courage to read this thread...

However I intend to follow Refugee's example, and get some flyers/leaflets sorted, to dot around hereabouts.
My OH already walks the dogs every day with copies of 7/7 Ripple Effect in his pocket to give away to all and sundry... are there any good youtube vids out there about fracking I can burn to DVD too?? Is the Ian Crane vid above copyrighted?? Am I asking daft questions??!
Sorry if I'm losing the plot... it's this whole subject ! :O :emb:

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
