Whatever you do, don't have a heart attack during your esa examination.

A MAN forced to give up work with heart problems had his benefits axed for failing to complete a capability assessment... after suffering a heart attack during the examination.

The man, who received employment support allowance, was required to attend a work-capability assessment to assess his suitability for work.

During the appointment he was told he was having a heart attack, forcing the nurse to stop the assessment.

Two weeks later he got a letter from Jobcentre Plus saying he had withdrawn from the assessment and was being sanctioned.

I can very easily believe it.

The system is run at f2f level, not by the actual Illuminati, but by lowly paid clerks, some of whom would be better off on benefit themselves!

Thats always the excuse though isn't it? I'ts never anyones fault. Atos says its a DWP decision. DWP say they rely on the information given to them by ATOS. Failing that it's a computer error or automated letter. The fact is that the game is rigged against the claimant - everytime!
Even if this was an automated letter, the claimant will still not be able to get any money unless they sign on when clearly not fit for work, or appeal and wait months without any money for a desision, by which time they could be dead through all the stress. It's dammed abomnible. :mad:

The only good thing about this incident is it is media-worthy.

It's when this type of thing is no longer so, that we need to worry.
I'm sure TPTB will be falling over themselves to ensure this particular individual is given priority...... now.

“He was supposed to go to a meeting at the Job Centre but prior to that we informed them that we couldn’t attend because our young son was sick and needed to be looked after.

“But when my husband wasn’t there he was sanctioned and his payments were stopped for four weeks.

“That meant for four weeks we had £69-a-week for the whole family to live on.

“It was heartbreaking really.

“We went back to the Job Centre but they said they couldn’t help. There was nowhere to turn and my cupboards were empty.

“I had heard about the food bank so I emailed them asking if I could get a voucher.

“I felt ashamed at first because of my pride. But when I walked in they came out with six bags of food with tomatoes, beans, pasta, rice pudding, cereal, milk, etc.

“I was gobsmacked and quite teary.”

It's a good job there's someone left with a fucking heart. But, hey, I'd hate for the government to run out of funds for the next bank bailout.
