I have an offshore bank account. It has had the pricely sum of £3.28 sitting in it since 1989

Every single bank in the UK offers an offshore banking option to it's customers with a certain standing/balance (or staff)

The accounts are in sterling and held under a Jersey or Guernsey sort code

you could have retrospective laws,or warn people that if you traded £ from such a date you could face long jail time,who would risk being lumped with a load of worthless paper (LOL).

There are so many various ways to make it work but obviously something like this won't happen.
