Bez to run for Parliament and create 'new world order'
Happy Mondays star Bez is to kick off a political career by joining anti-Fracking protesters this weekend, before running for Salford MP in the 2015 general election.
The Happy Mondays star told the Manchester Evening News:
“I’ve been saying we need a revolution and there’s no good shouting about it when you’re not actually doing anything.
I’m going to create a new world order and get rid of them and start again with a new, fairer system without evil being the main policy.
“One of my policies would be a permacultural society where we’ll end illness and get everybody back to an alkaline state.”
The maraca-shaking front man is also against controversial gas Fracking, saying "I believe in free energy but the bankers and the people in charge don’t want to use them.”
Bez could be replacing Hazel Blears if elected.

Funnily enough, I saw him being interviewed on 'This Morning':

...by that idiot Martin Lewis, and he asked why all of the outstanding debt just couldn't be cancelled and the world begin again from scratch essentially, to which Martin Lewis who knows nothing about economics said something completely stupid and recommended that he got an ISA.

Bez backs anti-fracking protesters at Barton Moss camp

The Happy Mondays star chatted with activists and unveiled two new policies for his run for parliament - free gas and free food

Bez from The Happy Mondays visits the Anti-Fracking campaigners at Barton Moss.

Dancer and budding politician Bez visited Barton Moss to lend his support to anti-fracking campaigners.

The Happy Mondays star talked and joked with protesters at the Eccles camp - and even brought them a case of vegan-friendly wheat beer.

Although many of the 60 activists based permanently at the camp - which opposes exploratory gas drilling by company iGas - were visisting a protest at a similar site in Farndon, Cheshire, the relatively small number at Barton Moss on Sunday gave him a warm welcome.

Bez was given a tour of the camp - which opened last autumn - and was seen sharing a drink with protesters in the main catering tent and makeshift hut.

The MEN revealed last week how Bez is thinking of standing for parliament at the 2015 general election in the seat of Salford and Eccles being vacated by current MP Hazel Blears.

As well as opposing fracking - the controversial gas extraction process otherwise known as hydraulic fracturing - Bez’s main campaign pillars include establishing a ‘new world order’, staging a revolution and ending all war.

The former maraca-wielding ‘freaky dancer’ also supports the eco-friendly, sustainable farming method called permaculture - a philosophy he explained to protesters during his hour-long visit the camp, on Barton Moss Road.

During his visit, the camp made contact with fellow anti-fracking protesters in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, who were staging a protest outside the British embassy in solidarity with Barton Moss.

Bez was expected to return to the camp on Monday morning to join a ‘slow walk’ protest - where campaigners slow down lorries arriving at the site.

Camp member Diane Steels, who calls herself a ‘protector’, said: “He was great. I was one of the few people who hadn’t heard of him but I was told all about the maracas and so on. I was a bit worried what he would be like but he was just like one of us, really.

“He really raised the sprits of the camp and we had a nice chat and laugh with him.”

it was interesting to note that Lewis did agree that money was a big lie, but he moved on ever so quickly from that and started talking about ISA's so most viewers would not have noticed

Just by saying that he's against fracking, he's already contributed something more useful than every journalist that currently works for the BBC combined!

Tesco's profits have actually fallen quite a bit recently, and other supermarkets have issued profit warnings. But Tesco still made a profit of well over £1 billion profit in six months, so none of the major shareholders will have to start sampling the Tesco value range yet.
