It's Internationally recognized that "Fair Comment" is ok in various copyright laws Andy.

Generally, posting the first paragraph followed by a link to the original media is sufficient attribution to the author.

Obviously, posting the whole article is going to cause problems - unless it is followed by a sincere point by point commentary dissection of the article. Most copyright jurisdictions allow this.

If any site publishes information or news it is fair and reasonable to expect people to comment on what has been published. In order to allow reasonable comment there has to be a mechanism which allows free dissemination of the original article for the purpose of criticism.
