Batou.
If it was just about him facing sexual assault/rape charges in Sweden I'd be supporting his extradition no probs.
If he was tried and found guilty for that. Fuck him. That shit is nasty.

Charges have not yet been brought though. The Swedes have been given opportunities to interview him here and declined.
The two women who it's alleged he assaulted were not to keen on pressing charges. (according to early reports anyway),
The whole thing has a trumped up sniff about it.

If, as many suspect, this is just a bridging point to fire him over to the States for trial then it's a whole different can of worms because he actually could face life in prison or perhaps the death penalty for essentially providing a means to tell us the truth.

Something is afoot with the whole thing or he would have been tried here simply for the release of all those diplomatic emails that had them all grovelling to each other again after being busted for backstabbing with pearly grins.

well you gave me something to think about. im not convinced about this poor julian image. the whole thing has been sensationalized, and complete with theatrics. diplomatic immunity.. hiding as a pizza delivery guy. what next, escaping in a laundry cart?
i dont know if im being too hard on him or not. maybe my brain is broken. it just seems off.

Well thanks for all the thoughtful responses. Today I made my donation to the Bradley Manning defense fund. Things like this are very important to me and I feel this is the time to stand up and do something. I have been working night shifts recently and actually got laid off on wednesday so I came home and looked online to find the above live feed of the embassy. I salute those people who were there so early on and I tip my hat to all those who have done something to show your distaste for this whole affair.

In Assange’s case, he’s not an American and so he has no constitutional protection. Moreover, he’s going to get a lot of people killed.

Can we do anything legally about someone from another country leaking this information? Maybe not. Can we have a CIA agent with a sniper rifle rattle a bullet around his skull the next time he appears in public as a warning? You bet we can — and we should. If that’s too garish for people, then the CIA can kill him and make it look like an accident.

Either way, Julian Assange deserves to die for what he’s done and he should be killed to send a message loud enough to convince other people not to publish documents like this in the future.

Virtually all the blood-thirsty vultures quoted above should be charged with incitement to murder. SCUM!

I don't know much about this situation,I just have one question as a observer

How can this fellow, who has pissed off and is wanted by some very serious types, even make it this far,to be in a position that potentially he can have freedom, was he free to go wherever he wanted and then they cornered him or what?

Even if they go in and get him,he was still able to put himself in this position I don't understand this

Completely bloodline and clearly an agent of some kind... Anyone think Assange is bloodline and therefore working as an agent operative?

a) He looks nothing like Breivik.
b) Everyone in power wants him dead.
c) This infers that you support all the people mikey has mentioned incl Palin,Huckabee,Limbaugh etc etc etc and really don't want journalists saying anything, instead they should be shot and everyone should do as their government tells them like good little sheeple or be executed.

Often people try to come over as Detective Colombo but in reality are using the FOX News implied accusation couched in a question.
