I think everybody is missing a very important point about peoples views and behaviour in celebrating her death.
At a time when things are hard in the UK, all the street celebrations are going to backfire big style. The 'celebrants' are playing right into the hands of the authorities either on the streets or on twitter or facebook and even on forums. I am dreading her funeral next Wednesday, alcohol fuelled celebrations very often turn into fistycuffs. I do wonder whether there would be such mass vitriol if it was a Labour government in power just now. I somehow don't think so.
Having watched reports on various news channels of the people out celebrating on the streets yesterday, they were youths in their majority who weren't even alive when she was PM.
I see trouble brewing and nothing good coming of all this.
Her death couldn't have come at a worse time, combined with the current government being conservative......as can now be seen with the reactions on the street. I just wish the news stations and newspapers would just shut up now. But they wont of course, we'll be hearing stuff until after the funeral, but by then it will be more and more civil unrest.
I just can't get my head around the fact that people are blaming her for the state our country is in now, forgetting that we had Blair then Brown, who could have what all succesive governments have done, and got rid of the policies she put in place, Blair by his own words chose not to, and now we have the conservatives again! Now do you see what I meant by a 'cigarette paper'? I have only ever voted twice in my adult voting life (both of which I regret). I was a teenager during the Thatcher reign. I just don't vote. It's my way of voicing what I will say next.
As I have said, and this is just my personal view, since the dawn of 'civilization' thousands of years ago, politics and religion are the two systems WE ALL stand guilty of pandering to, to the detrament of the majority and advantage of the very few.
There is good and bad in everything, there will always be a division with people taking sides. Maybe I am too much of a dreamer, but take politics and religion out of that equation and all you would have is PURE humanity. All I can tell you is, once I stepped back from the politics and religion, my life vastly improved. In my own stupid and clumsy way, that is all I was trying to show/explain with my previous posts. Just asking you to try and see the 'bigger picture' please.
