Been a long long time since I watched Twin Peaks. All I remember is that it was very odd but had some superb weirdness happening.

Wild At Heart is a tremendous film though... if you like your head being screwed with

I'm a big fan of Lynch's. We need artists like him who plumb the depths of the human psyche or we'd all be watching Strawberry Shortcake,and drooling in our EZ chairs robotically chanting "Life is good. There is no evil. Everyone is great."

Twin Peaks was all about the town more than the murder or the shit that went on in the town. It was about these small town American cities that have a LOT of secrets,and make no bones about trying their best to keep them buried.

It's about the strange shit that happens,that for whatever reason doesn't get out to the mainstream media.

IF you watch that show very carefully there's a lot of conspiracy themes,especially with mind control going on. I think Lynch was trying to bring attention to it at that time. In the 90's here in America there was a lot of fervor over satanic cults,and ritual killings.
Today it's all but died down,which may be even more scary when you think about it....

Either way I applaud people like Lynch who aren't afraid to dive head first into hell,and write about what they saw so that we can all understand just how fucked up our reality really can be.

Just to mention, and only really because things like this seem to irritate me more than anyone I have ever met and really ruin the 'suspension of disbelief' which all good story-telling is founded upon...I've spotted another error.

I've no idea if it is intentional or not (Lynch-ites would probably say it is), but in Eraserhead, the main character steps in a puddle during the opening scenes. It is his right foot which gets wet.

In a later scene, he removes his sock to dry it on the radiator, but removes his left sock.

Just sayin'.

Twin Peaks
Wild At Heart (Try this Ab Origine - his best film)
Blue Velvet
The Elephant Man
The Straight Story (quite a normal film for him)

Weird stuff:
Eraserhead
Lost Highway
Mulholland Dr.
Inland Empire (his latest -proper bonkers)

Rubbish:
Dune (it's got Sting in it )

mazalan ........The elephant man is one of my favourite films.....i did not have a clue it was a david lynch film until you listed it .



It's not as weird and dark as his other stuff though ....and I love love love John Hurt as an actor
